Who lives in Oklahoma?

Hey there...I'm a Californian stuck in Oklahoma for the week for the national tournament in debate. I must tell you, it's not a nice place to visit and i wouldn't want to live here. I'm at Oklahoma U right now on a computer. Any "okies" know of anything to do in Oklahoma city?

Can't tell you what to do inthe Norman area except maybe hit the bars since it is a college town. As for OKC try the Bricktwon district, lots of things to do there. While you're in that area you should probably go to the Murrah Building memorial as well. If you decide to come up the turnpike to the good side of the state(where we have trees, lakes, hills, rivers, etc..) to Tulsa where I live let me know and I'll show you around.

No offense to Oklahomans but I've passed through the state four times and each time it's a relief to get to the state border.

The worst Burger King I have ever had the misfortune of eating at was just south of Norman. Every single person in there (worker and patron) was morbidly obese and the food tasted like it had been sitting around all day and had been reheated.

I felt like I was in a different dimension.

The only thing I think would be cool would be to see a tornado there... I've heard they tend to be very red due to the red dirt y'all have.

Again, no offense to any Sooners or Cowboys, but I couldn't live there.

hey i was born and raised in oklahoma but i go to college now in los angeles. BIG difference. i lived in tulsa (go Union redskins, i guess ). things to do: not much, esp. in oklahoma city. tulsa is slightly better. pretty much the regular stuff, movies, shopping, there's not really anything to see there and i don't think okc is very pretty either.

(and yes, there are asians in oklahoma along with cars, toilets, electricity etc. i get this all the time)

OKC and the western side of the state suck! Not only is the geography different, and lousy, the people in western OK are not what I consider to be normal Oklahomans. If you want to see Oklahoma come to the eastern side, especially the northeastern part where Tulsa is.

Shaprstick....when did you graduate from East Central? I'm originally from Sand Springs but dated a girl from East Central many years ago.

Weezergirl....went to Union huh? How long have you been in LA?

I have been stuck in OK for over two years, and it lives up to all the worst slanders in spades! This must be on the short list of least-appealing states. Even Norman, home of a large public school, is completely lame.

OKC has one of the highest rates of teen pregnancy and lowest rates of post-secondary education of any city in America, and a surprisingly high crime rate as well. Since I lived here, I have been the victim of auto vandalism and theft, and one friend was robbed at gunpoint and another had his apartment building burned down by meth manufacturers!
