I'm very partial to Antecs. Used several of them over the years and it's the only brand I buy now.

i agree with Kurupshin

The new 400 Watt Antec is your best bet (Sparkle is good, but 400W no on/off switch)
how Enermax got their "top name" brand is a mystery to me
PcPower is the finest, but twice the price

while a powersupply with 245W TCO on +5V and +3.3V will not gurantee a freeze and crash free 3D
initialization, since different motherboards have different efficiencies in "dishing out" voltages, you
won't have a prayer on a VIA/AMD system with a lesser supply, especially with the new GF4 series.

<< Enermax sucks, go antec, had em both. Enermax had LOW 5v rail. >>

I just got my Enermax EG465P-430watt Whisper and no such problem with mine.

<< I would recommend Antec They just came out with some new ones too. Look on there website Here. >>

The Antec website always makes me think poorly of their products. For instance, the PSU linked above touts the "Antec Low Noise Technology", but doesn't give actual measured specs for noise level.

I have Antec, and like them. But every time I see their web site it makes me wonder.

Hmm, a bunch of friends told me their Enermax PSes are good, and never told me about any voltage problems, I ordered the 530W last thursday, will let you know when I get it installed...

Ive been very impressed with my Antec PP403X. It has supported my dual Athlon setup with all I can throw at it. I even run Delta 7000 RPM processor fans off the Motherboard headers. Its very healthy and reliable.

LoL I have noticed the exact same thing! I personally as well as lots of other people think Enermax is overrated.

It's suppose to be the motherboard headers that get stressed.. cause of the high amperage draw on the small header circuitry.. the power supply can handle millions of little 7K Delta fans, but the mobo might not be able to, it's not the Antec that's letting you do that... I have the PP403X as well, and I love it !!!!!!!

My Enermax 431w PS is great. The 5v and 3.3v rails actually read a little higher on my MSI KT7266 Pro2.

Since I have used all of the above, I find the Antec/Channel Well power supplies to be the best bang for the buck. All of the rails are usually right on par with a loaded system. If you are out to buy a new one, a 350w should be more than adequate for an XP/P4 system with a lot of peripherals.

John is correct, as many of you...

I have had and ran PC Power and Cooling, Antec and Channel Well too, I'm currently using the new Antec PP-412X and I really like it. Set the +12v to +12.20v and the +5v is around +5.25.

The Antec and the Channel Well that I have used have the adjustable pots, so I go that route.

I think the issue about Enermax PSU having low 5v rails depends on the mobo. I had 350 and 430watt versions of Enermax and the 5v rails have all been from 5.12 to 5.25v. Thats with mobos ranging from MSI K7T pro2, to KG7, ECS K7S5A, Epox 8KHA+ to Asus nFORCE mobos. I also have Sparkle and Antec 400w as well as TTGI 420w and all are awesome. Bottom line, as long its a QUALITY PSU, you shouldn't have any problems unless there are specific issues with certain mobo/PSU combos.
