I have a real good set, but they are in my trunk and there's no way in hell I'm going to go down look. Sorry.

Nice jumper cables... yeah.

I got a set at Target last year for half off. They have built-in flashlights on each of the clips.

I don't think quality really matters. The most important thing to me is the carrying case it comes with. Also the length of cables might be important to you.

I suppose I should explain something.

I am not socially phobic, I am extroverted in fact,

but if I can avoid Wal-Mart, I do.

Traffic there and back sucks.

Once there, I end up in line behind either someone writing a check, or someone trying to put something they can't on food stamps.

Online, I can order painlessly with the mouse.

I also don't mind paying a little more for better cables.

Quality does matter Glen, the heavier the gauge, the more current it can carry.
Go to your local NAPA dealer and purchase a pair with 4 gauge wire or larger, they will not be cheap but you will never have to buy another pair ever again.

What features are you looking for in these better cables? Thicker wire? Thicker shielding? Tighter springs? Looser springs?

Does Monster make jumper cables?

Well, the lower gauge wires usually have long cables, so they may cancel the advantage out.

Sears:

$49.99
4 gauge, 20 ft. rubber booster cable with a heavy duty parrot jaw clamp. 500 amp power rating.

$29.99
6 gauge, 18 ft. rubber booster cable with a medium duty side/top clamp. 400 amp power rating.

NAPA

$28.39
6 Gauge, 12 ft. 400 amp power rating

Look like Sears has a really good deal now on that 6 gauge one.

I have a set that was $3.99 at Walmart. I have used them multiple times and let others borrow them at truck stops and they always do the trick.

Thanks Glen and Mikey

Those little POS's are not worth the wrapper they are packaged in, go out and purchase a portable jumper.
I've had my Prestone Jump it for six years now, have used it on a daily basis and she's still going strong
