I remember using DWANGO client via DOS which was before MPlayer/Kali to play Doom/Doom2/Hexen/Heretic matches before most of these clients went mainstream.

Ten was great for Duke3D matches but, once Quake came around it was game over and it seemed like other games after that took the TCP/IP approach.

Anyone remember playing Sega Genesis games via the cable network back in the day? This allowed you to play a library of games without the need of cartridges or renting.

Not trying to dig up a dead post, However in the hopes we still have Mplayer users on here, this could be a good thing for them.

There is actually a redevelopment of the old Mplayer being made. It has been in development for close to 4 years now.
All the cool features and all other memorable things that you remember and miss most about Mplayer will be included with a lot of cool new things!

http://www.hivegamer.com is the main website
However the per-view of the client. It's of a early Alpha test build. Here

Also looking for staff for the following

If anything stop by and say HI. Maybe you will bump into an old friend

It has been rebuilt. Haha that is a legit link just to the Live Stream of the new service and forum. It is launching in January. I kid you not. Game launching is still in development but aside from that it is a fully functional client.

Here is the direct link on YouTube

Behold! We redid the skinning engine (As you can see, no more .BMP) and recoded the entire platform to be compatible with everything from windows XP to windows 10 with their affiliated security.

Here is the link to view it in a larger size.

Ahh, the memories :| Remember firing up Quake 1 for the 1st time online there.
Probably was around age 13 back then.

I feel old now.

Mplayer before gamespy took over :|

Your favorite late 90's chat/gaming client has started a Rebirth! www.mplayer.co (currently don't have rights to the .com) The client is in Alpha testing with a brand new client version nearing completion! Come download the client and make an account asap! Join us in the General Chat Lobby !

Memories, like fingerprints, are slowly fading.

I remember Mplayer, just can't remember ever actually using it.

M-Player bought X-Band. I miss X-Band

I remember Sega's Heat.net and Microsoft's MSN Gaming Zone. Then GameSpy.

Let's get it on with the killing.

Heat.net was the sh*t! Does anyone remember Kingpin? The first game I played online multiplayer was that game.

MSN was great. Played hours of AoE on MSN.

Now we have Twitch, and the hot young studs who flaunt their man beards, and the gorgeous ladies who showcase their tatas.

It's a different breed that's for sure.

I remember playing Warcraft 2 on Kali.net back in high school. Also played X-Wing vs TIE Fighter on MS Zone.

Hi guys,

I am just trolling through a bunch of threads posting updates. Figured I'd drop a new screenshot in here. We are almost ready to go to production. Taken a long time to get the new client up.

We are still messing with the user interface. Quick one I did up the other day. The old Gizmo in the background. Generally the layout we are starting with though. All rebuilt in C#.
