Who should Democrats run in 2020?

I don't see many options and defeating a populist like Trump is not that simple.

Elizabeth Warren can fire up a crowd, knows how to debate and has little baggage, however she doesn't seem like a real fighter.

I really like Tulsi Gabbard for those who know here. She's strong on principles and substance, but I don't think she stands a chance against a demagogue like Trump since she's more soft spoken and not well known enough i'm afraid.

But who else could run? It needs to be somebody who can rally up a crowd and for me needs to be somebody who's willing to take a fight and put pressure on Republicans in congress and let's us finally make the shift towards renewable energy to stop air pollution, global warming and make us no longer dependent on the OPEC for our energy prices.

With the thought of the 2016 election in mind, logic dictates that the Dems should run a liberal version of Trump.

For the Repubs, lies and broken promises don't seem to matter, nor does having a bromance with a Former Head of KGB and now Russian Prez, nor does being a narcissist spoiled brat man-child, nor does pandering to the most racist of our racists.

So if the Dems want cross-over votes from the Repubs and especially from the folks in the rust belt, they're going to have to find someone who is willing to sacrifice their self-respect, their integrity, their morals, their honesty, their ethics and their common sense and be willing to coif their hair in such a way that it looks like a bleached out bermuda grass divot AND dye their skin orange. The Dems will also need to assure that their vetting process includes having a candidate that swears he/she is going to drain the establishment out of gov't and then actually does just the opposite.

Hey, if that's what the people want in a President, then that's what the Dems need to give them, right?

Why? Because she actually cares about soldier's lives and therefore spoke with Trump and Assad looking for a pragmatic solution. That girl has a heart of gold. She only lacks popularity which is needed to get enough votes from the dumb masses. But you're right that labels like "republikan" or "democrat" don't really mean alot. Even though she's a pretty spry 67, Warren will be 71 come 2020. That's not the age that D's need to pull a ticket. They need young, charismatic, and strong. Look back at the last three fails on the D ticket and you see boring old slogs - Hillary, John Kerry, Al Gore. All just....bleh personalities. Obama and Bill were young, charismatic and captivating. Somewhere they can dig up that kind of personality.
