Who still find's their Ti4200 64MB is holding out?

My Ti4200 was great... I did replace it but only because I wanted a fanless video card without modification... I went w/ a 9600Pro that had no fan but don't use the extra power at all...

Mine is doing fine. I've got a zalman fanless cooler on it and its just running happy at default speeds. I have no reason to upgrade and I could care less about the coolness factor right now. I'm actually saving my money.

I'm quite happy with my 4200 Ti 128MB 8X. It plays all the lastest games just fine so long as I leave the AA/AF off and crank the res down to 1024x768 on some of the newer games like Painkiller (since I'm still running with a CRT not being able to run at 16x12 is no biggie for me). I have no illusions of being happy with the card for Doom 3 or HL2, but I figure my 4200 will last me until the midrange NV40-derivatives become affordable. (GeForce 6600-series?).

I have a feeling that the GeForce cards are a lot like the Star Trek movies, in that you'll generally do better to stick with the even-numbered ones.

Well, I'm not sure what the real problem is but my Ti4200 would not play FarCry or NFSU. Sometimes it would and other times it wouldn't. I think it was just starting to show its age with the newer games.

It lasted me this long but over the weekend I finally bought me a new card and boy I'm very happy. The Ti4200 was one of my best cards ever! I had it overclocked to 4400 speed's and it never let me down unitl last week with FarCry. I remember people saying how this card would be done for once games like UT2003 and Halo came out. But this card was still giving me good fps. All those CS/HL, Q3, BF1942, MOH, SWJKA, and AA games that I've played with this card.

It's to bad I had to put this bad boy to rest, over two years and it was money well spent. Hopefully it will find a new home in some elses computer. I have it posted fs/t forums for $40 shipped.

Good buy old friend, you will be missed.

Hmm.... 3 months' mortgage or 3 Radeon 9800's..... tough choice.

Gimme' a good card for 1/5th of the price ANY DAY! The Ti4200 is still an excellent choice.

I've got my Gainward Ti4200 128mb and it rocks. I haven't been gamng a lot lately though because of our schools stupid firewall. Can't play CS 1.6 and haven't bothered buying any newer games in fear of this problem. The card is awesome though.

My 64 meg Ti4200 still does the job for me in UT2k4. I run the settings on 1024x768, medium detail, no AA or AF, and it's always smooth. While some people may say it's a dated card, it gets the job done for me. I'll probably dump it late in the year when I upgrade my mb/cpu/ram.

Oh, and it's not stock... Like the OP, I have an L1a blowing on it and it's clocked @ 305/625.

I have the 128MB version, not O/C at all (though I had it at 300/600 when I first got it but didn't need the extra)

This is by far the best card I have ever purchased. I paid barely more than my TNT2Ultra, yet it has lasted me 2 years so far and it keeps on going. I haven't tried a lot of new games, but the games I do play (mostly Dark Age of Camelot) really look nice with the DX8 water etc and I have no trouble with framerates. I expect this card will last me until I am forced to get a PCI-Express card when I build my next PC.
