Who still uses Usenet?

I've started getting into Usenet because of all the valuable information found in newsgroups. Just wondering if anyone else here uses Usenet for discussions (as opposed to downloading files) and what their Usenet service provider is?

I wonder if Usenet is as big as it used to be - it was bigger than the worldwide web at one stage apparently.

usenet sucks today compared to 10 years ago. though 10 years ago it was included in nearly every internet connection i had and there were tons of free GOOD servers.

to be honest usenet has far far more use's then movies, games or porn.

When it was well known it was a great place. now? to much spam. I used to get woodworking plans, and tips. I would get on one of the modal car ones and talk.

If you want to explore the aspect of usenet that you can talk about, just search around google groups. There are still a number of decent discussion groups, however so many are plagued by spam. Reddit seems like it's taking over some portion of these responsibilites, since it's so easy to create a subreddit for any very specific topic while also having active moderators.

I'm surprised it actually even still exists. Maintaining and using a forum is so much simpler, you'd think everything would have switched to that by now.

I do sometimes find usenet posts when searching for Linux stuff, but that's the extent of it.
