Any newsreader worth installing will take care of all that for you. Some usenet services even have web front ends so downloading a file is a simple right click save as operation.
What is the point of Usenet when you can google everything with what you want + the word 'torrent' in 4 seconds?
i dont really see the point in paying a monthly fee for usenet when you could just use that money to go buy the legit media

This is dependent on how long the files have been on the server. I forget the reason, but usenet is about the most unreliable way to get files. Even on recent stuff, the files still need to be repaired. It might be my usenet provider, but on anything older than a few hundred days its hit and miss. Now torrents are reliant on being seeded, so there is no guarantee it will be around as long as the retention of many usenet servers, but generally the files don't get corrupted via torrents. If there was an issue, it was with the original seed.
$40 for terabyte tuesday was 3 days ago and I jumped on it... haven't tried it out yet though, but I'm set for a while. Better than unlimited for a monthly fee in my opinion.
After my modem was quaranteened the other day by Time Warner for downloading something they didnt even name and I didnt even do anyway, I am not touching this crap.

Stop spreading misinformation.Both usenet and torrent sites are full of fake passworded rars, broken files, movies with out of sync audio, movies in other languages that aren't labelled, etc.. The difference is, with usenet you can't tell what's good and what's shit. You have to guess.
Torrent sites have upvote systems and files with lots of seeds are generally good. Also, if you're downloading a movie, you can see you're getting an actually video file and not a rar which could be passworded. With usenet, pretty much all large files are packaged as a bunch of rars due to limitations of usenet.

I disagree. What happens if you what you download is not exactly what you want or the quality is horrible. Then you just wasted some of your Gigs.

It depends on how much you download. So for him it might be the best deal. If you're a heavy downloader, then maybe not.
Sabnzbd is pretty good. Then use binsearch or nzbclub. If you watch a lot of TV shows, look into sickbeard.

Do the math. You'd have to download a ton for it to be worth it to pay monthly instead of $40 per terabyte.
