Question Who uses NZXT Cam here?

I'd say this is cooling related since the software controls fans and their liquid cooler. Any who, when it 1st came out I bought the 1st gen NZXT Gid fan hub and their LED strips. At first I didn't like or dislike the software, it was whatever. Then there was a firmware update and it made getting my lights and fans to work at all nearly impossible. I found an old version of CAM and it worked for months, then I accidentally did the firmware update again. It borked it to where even my old trick of rolling back the software, removing stuff from my Registery, then rebooting and praying to God didn't help. I hate giving up, so I tried a bunch of stuff with zero luck so I just gave up. This was maybe a year ago, a few months ago I saw there was a whole new version of CAM, and apparently some other company had taken over and had been programming the software for a while now. And they claimed going to to fix it all the issues everyone was having. Sounded like crap to me cos that software's AWEFUL beyond! blah blah blah.

Any ways, the new software seems worlds better, been using it for a few months now. I don't know how much better as I only have a GRID V1 and nothing fancy, but now everything works and the software works. The kicker for me was a few weeks ago there was a firmware update. It actually updated and my lighting didn't vanish. I haven't seen many pieces of software hated as much online as CAM, and for good reason. If anyone here uses the new version I'm curious how you like it? I never expected my Grid to work again, so I'm presently surprised. CAM was what was keeping me from getting a Kraken, but I think I might upgrade to one now, the new X63 & Z63 both look pretty good imho.

It came out 4 months ago. I haven't used it yet, but I will give it a shot. I'm swapping from the x61 to the evga clc 280 when my lian li case comes in though, so it will be short lived lol.

Wow. Thanks for letting us know about the new version. I was using the old version for my H200i case, and I absolutely hated it. It was by far the worst aspect of the case. The new version seems worlds better, mainly because it doesn't require me to log in just to use the software.

Funny that the old version never informed me of the update.

This is probably not much use to you, but you did ask

I use NZXT CAM, currently 4.30, with the Kraken x60 on my Radeon VII. It has always worked perfectly for controlling the fan curve and temps. It does track both core temp and hot spot temp on the VII. I haven't used the overclocking features of the NZXT CAM with my Radeon VII, as I use Afterburner for that.

As for lighting, the x60 only allows change of color on the pump logo lighting, but that has always worked through all the software updates. The software seems to be continuously updated on a regular basis, but only occurs/happens/notifies me, when the PC is rebooted. As to the Kraken firmware, the x60 is first gen and doesn't update firmware, so it is stuck at v1.0
