It's funny how no one notices that ALL of the drivers are tailgating. The camera truck is like 20 ft behind the other truck for the first half of the video. That truck was 20ft behind another car. People should really relax a more. there was very little traffic and everyone was going 65 MPH. back off the bumper and take a breath.
As for the question...it's the Camero driver who is at fault, though it looks to me like he might have lost traction and control which caused him to swerve back. He's very lucky to be alive, but the douche probably don't realize it.
The Camaro driver is an idiot from the start to the end. He should lose his license for a very long time.
But the pickup truck driver is clearly at fault, as well, for his behavior. I'd expect him to be ticketed, at the least. At first, from the shadows, you can see that there's a vehicle in front of the truck, but it's long gone by the time of the accident. The pickup driver is just being a jerk at that point and keeping the car from passing.
And the guy with the dash cam? Following too closely for much of this video.
Both of them. The guy recording is following way to close as well. Am I the only one that follows 2-4 seconds behind the car in front of me?

FL just passed a law that says indeed you may not camp out in the passing lane and block traffic, pass the vehicle next to you and continue on at speed or move over once you've made the pass. That being said the Camaro driver was driving very aggressive right from the start, I hope the DMV see's this tape and pulls his license.
Looks like you can add drunk to the list of issues with the Camaro driver.

Truck driver needs to grow up.
Camaro driver needs to stick to public transportation.

State Police charged the driver of the Camaro, 32-year-old Kiran Thapa of Columbus, Ohio with aggravated DWI. Troopers say his BAC was .19 percent.
Thapa is also facing multiple traffic infractions and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
.19 whoa. No driver's license either lol
90% of the semi-trucks on our major highway here pass like that (barely going 1-2 km/h faster than the one they are overtaking)
Both acted like babies. After the kid in thepickup break checked the kid in the camero, that should have been the end of it. Pickup had to prove he's just as retarded and immature by blocking the lane.
Camero is obviously at fault for making a very dangerous maneuver, but pickup is a dick, no question about it.
I feel sorry for the driver of the big rig. It looks like he tried slowing down at least once to get himself out of the situation the other 2 guys put him in, but the pickup slowed as well to match speed.
Before everyone posted a link as to where it happened, I thought the area looked familiar. But then I saw the date, and figured there would be snow on the ground if it was January 9th, but then saw the time and figured the date was wrong as well. So I went to Google Maps Street View and confirmed that it was I-90 between Rochester and Buffalo...
Either way, I thought the Camaro had Ontario plates. Turns out he was from Ohio. You get a pass Canadians, this time. :hmm:
pffft!
a canadian with a .19 BAC could fly the space shuttle through the eye of a sewing needle.

I only drive drunk.
jk.
But srsly, what is aggravated unlicensed driving?
Also, I love threads like these because they let me know which people on AT I would actually hate in real life.
