Two out of the four guys' teams are a lock for the playoffs..Ortiz has got the numbers, Jeter's the clutch guy, Dye is a bit of both, and Thomas has had a monstrous year in a team who is going to win their division and don't have that much offense in their line up.
Thomas is probaby going to be the most overlooked of them all, and it'll be the other three that will be duking it out for the title, but he certainly has been the main part of baseball's hottest team since the all star break.
That said though it is hard to give the award to a DH, which leaves Jeter and Dye..and I think Jeter will edge Dye if the Sox don't make the playoffs, which seems more and more likely now.
The NL is simpler, Howard and the Phillies have come from out of nowhere to make a chase for the race, and has the slugging numbers on Pujols..but Pujols is far too valuable for the central leading Cards to lose it.
