Really have to live out my Q9450 @ 3.6GHz, so I'll take maybe whatever is after Nehalem probably.

I don't think Nvidia got a license from Intel to make chipsets for Nehalem. You'll have to wait until some board makers decide to slap the Nvidia 200 chip onto an Intel chipset board (a la Skulltrail) before you can do SLI with Nehalem. At least, AFAIK.
As for Nehalem, I'll probably wait.

How else do you explain the seemingly nonsensical official nomenclature of Nehalem? Just a (not very well thought through) conspiracy...
