WATCH THE DEBATES AGAIN !!!!
The second time. All the way through. Not just CNN sound bites.
The second time you realize Obama is telling us the facts.
The facts with medicare. The facts about banking regulation. Specifics.
Obama understands what has happened in the past 12 years, the consequences of the Romney plan (whatever that is, vouchers I guess?).
On the second view, you listen to the words and the logic and not just sit there waiting for zingers.
What Obama says is and has been very consistent with his policy.
Just the facts, ma am.
Especially laying out healthcare vs insurance company policy.
Mitt Romney agrees with Obamacare goals, but has some secret unknown plan to achieve the very same goals. Who knows what plan that might be...?
Listening to the words and the history on the issues should give Obama the huge debate advantage.
Add in the lies Romney insists on repeating over and over.
The clear winner, on the debate, with the hype removed, gives Obama the advantage as a true leader. And more so, a leader that cares about the middle class.
How anyone could not see that, especially after a second view of the debate, is mind boggling.
Obama is far too intelligent for our deserving.
Voters deserve stupid. They should get stupid.
If people want stupid. Mitt Romney is right there waiting for that golden cup.
Come-on people. Wake up.
This guy, Mitt Romney, is a slick used car salesman that will tell you anything at any time to close the deal on his sale of that lemon on the lot.
In one way I almost hope Romney wins.
People deserve 4 more years of republican dumbed down ideology.
Four years of new wars, and maybe even a draft to support those wars.
Yes... YOUR kids drafted into war in another country far from home.
Yes... Your home mortgage deduction wiped out.
I think people deserve Mitt Romney.
Voters are not deserving of a true intelligent leader as Obama.
They vote stupid and they deserve stupid.
In a dark comedy kind of way, voters should elect Mitt Romney.
I'd like to see that. But only from a far.Not up close. NO WAY UP CLOSE...!

CNN says it was a clear win for Romney.

Denver, Colorado (CNN) – Two-thirds of people who watched the first presidential debate think that Republican nominee Mitt Romney won the showdown, according to a nationwide poll conducted Wednesday night.

According to a CNN/ORC International survey conducted right after the debate, 67% of debate watchers questioned said that the Republican nominee won the faceoff, with one in four saying that President Barack Obama was victorious.

"No presidential candidate has topped 60% in that question since it was first asked in 1984," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

In fact he set a record.

Congratulations! I haven't seen such gleeful nutsack swinging in a very long time. :awe:

On the other hand, it's almost depressing that someone can put so much faith in a single person.. D:

Romney was more compelling. Does this change anything, no. Obama will still win the election.

Exactly. I can't understand this cult of personality type, and probably never will. Probably the reason why I have such a morbid fascination with forums like this.

Obama won and here's why:

Tomorrows headlines (they are already appearing) aren't about Obama losing (those were the headlines tonight) but they are about romneys lies or flip flops. That's what people will be talking about tomorrow.

All Obama has to do is put up an ad of what Romney said tonight (from his own mouth) compared to what he's said in the last several months as well as his 47% comments and ask the question, "do you believe anything this guy says?".

Nothing like beating down your opponent with their own words.

lol the number of people that voted for Obama in the poll is the same as the number that voted for Jim Lehrer.

I voted no one. Romney painted himself into so many corners, he will only prove winner if no one ever calls him out on the nonsense he locked himself into tonite.

I thought Obama came off as he often does, velvet gloves who refuses to throw the knockout. We've seen this side of him often enough, but the campaign has covered it up for a while. This was the guy who took until Puerto Rico to defeat Clinton. He can be maddening, and we all got the reminder.

Clinton would have destroyed Romney

In my opinion Obama really beat himself tonight. He literally looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. A pretty pathetic debate performance compared to his best.
Maybe the rumors of the $35 million home on the North shore of Oahu being purchased and readied for the Obama's for January of next year are true. Maybe he knows what the media has to date refused to acknowledge with their constant blocking and spinning.

True, if you've been paying any attention, that's what's happening to Obama of late. All kinds of old videos surfacing of him. However you may not be seeing them at your sources for news.

I didn't watch it I thought it was going to start at 7 est and was like to hell with it I had work today.

So Obama never mentioned :

47 percent
Every single policy issue has been flipped on in the past 4 years
Same policies as Bush

?

The foreign policy debates will hopefully be better because with the exception of boots on the ground in Iran they are not a hell of a lot different.

Did either of them have any specifics on FED policy or the National Debt? I am surprised Romney, ever mentioned QE3 since he said he would fire Bernanke.

I thought the debate itself was pretty evenly-matched. Mitt was on top of the numbers (whether they be bullshit or not) and quick with rebuttals. Obama seemed the "practical" candidate this year; a stark contrast from last cycle. Both over-talked the moderator and seemed pretty arrogant.

Maybe it's just me, but Romney's "plans" just seemed desperate. Everything Obama said he was going to do or had done, Romney is going to "do it better." He's going to repeal Obamacare, but keep all the parts people like. Oh, *and* increase Medicare funding, to boot.

He was in full-on salesman mode. Everything you could possibly want, all for $19.95. But wait! Vote now and he'll even lower taxes for all middle-class Americans! He doesn't even know how he can afford this! Hurry and vote now!
