MOST PEOPLE PUT THEIR MAJOR AND CONCENTRATION ON THEIR RESUME....

Yeah, economy is weak now, but hey.....survival the fittest.....Instead of spending time blaming on the economy, why not improve yourself so you can be competitive???

Hey alwaysON, Even though you posted in the wrong forum you wasted a lot less bandwidth than those who replied.

Suggestion: Try getting a job at a cable-tv company. They seem to be pretty recession proof because people could lose everything but they still keep cable. They gotta have some entertainment. You'd probably have to start as an installer but just consider it paid education. Plus you get free cable, free cable modem service and with a degree you might move up quickly.

I graduated from UW in March with a BS in Computer Engineering. Back then, it was still not terribly difficult to find a job. But I must say that I really hated the Tech Communications classes that I was forced to take as a part of my major .... with a passion. Good luck with the job search.

While you're at it, work on your reading comprehension - my "300 word flame" was actually addressing the individuals who felt compelled to defend the original OT poster with sympathetic remarks about how difficult it must be to find a job nowadays, blah blah. People don't stop to think that a) just because AlwaysON was too incompetent to find a job its okay to post his resume on AT (imagine if everyone did that?) and b) that people who are unemployed tend to BLAME others (traditionally, it's been the immigrants/minorities who are scapegoated) for their own inadequacy. This is exactly what's happening here. And we have the usual gang of "I-don't-think-unless-kicked" AT goons who don't bother to realize what's really going on. I commend the individuals who saw exactly what this post was - an egregiously off-topic post by an idiot who couldn't find a job and wasn't even intelligent enough to find the right forum.

When I got out of school a few years back, the norm was that it takes 3 or so months to find a job. (Of course unless you were in technology) Now with the bad economy, I guess it could extend for a a few more months. If you are just getting out of school, I wouldn't worry so much nor expect to have a job as soon as you are out of school. Just relax and start looking.

Wow...how did my 300-word essay suddenly jump to 4,000,000? I apologize if you are not capable of comprehending passages of such length. Not everyone in this country is literate, and I should have been more sensitive to that fact. On the other hand, I don't see you addressing some of the issues I discussed in my "borish" post -- perhaps you realize the validity of my statements, and you just feel the need to flame me to cover up your own self-inadequacy? I am in a simmular situation education wise, but in my experiance you have to present yourself as best as possible because the first meeting is the most important... anyways, clean up your resume (start by removing the stupid BS joke.)
