Dutch Power Cows completed 9,675,832 blocks yesterday at a sustained rate of 30,061,764 Kkeys/second!
Dutch Power Cows is ranked #1 for yesterday!

Sheesh. Well, congratulations to the DPC on taking over number 1 overall.

Job well done!

Though I admit that I don't like seeing us lose the spot that we fought long and hard for, I have to give credit where credit is due! Perhaps because of this more visitors of AnandTech can become involved in the contest and we will once again overtake you for 1st.... only time will tell.

BTW... rotfpimp about the picture! Someone summed up my feeling pretty close!

Nice, but I'm sure that they wanted to do this yesterday before we achived the 6M mark but when they saw our 2.1M yesterday it was too late.... oh well it's time to get more power and run after them now.

It was coordinated within 1 day, that's the dutch: well organised and when they want something done they get it done.

Thnx for all your positive reactions.

<< Now THAT'S a dump! Good job in coordinating that guys! >>

Well, the good job was no job This was really not organized, just 1 guy screaming everywhere we had to flush everything we could.. 1 problem.. a couple of million is still missing

Sad but true, congrats DPC.

There is still one good point. DPC effort shows what solidarity of relatively small country could cause. /me dreaming EU vs. USA competition

Thanx everybody

In my opinion, TA and DPC flushed block number 600.000.000 at the same time!

Good luck with the RC5 project and with the other projects (in wich you're still better than DPC)

Yeah, even with the rivalry, congratulations on an excellent fly-by! Kudos on the "dump stratedgy".. I'm sure it took quite a bit of coordination to get everything to flow smoothly.

A challange that is too easy is not a worthy challenge.

Worthy competitors make for worthy challenges.

Congratulations DPC for being a worthy competitor.

Now that te DPC team has reached #1, it will be interesting to note what effect this will have on their relatively young RC5 team's burnout rate, compared to the relatively older, more experienced (ie, been there done that) Team Anandtech.

It seems that it has been RC5's history that becoming King of the Heap is far easier than remaining King of the Heap.

OK, all of you stats addicted: I would like to see a list of all of the teams that have been ranked #1 overall (RC5), together with how many days they remained as #1.

Here are the #1 overall RC5 teams that I am aware of in order of ascension, but I don't know their duration as #1. This stat might make a good motivating addition to the TeamAnandTech.com website.

? days - ?(if any)
? days - Team Evangelista
? days - Slashdot.org
? days - AnandTech
? days - Dutch Power Cows

Please remind that, despite the huge flush, appr. 3 or 4 milion blocks have had to spend the night in the proxies, so today will be another good day for the DPC. (checking the backlogs reveals that it could probably take 2 more days... )

Tnx for the congratz...
It really was like Energy said, really funny.
One or two guys started screaming on our forum "WE CAN GET THEM! JUST FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH ALL YOU HAVE! I'M ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SURE THAT WE'LL BE #1 TOMORROW!!! JUST DO IT AND SHUT UP!"
Then everybody was all over everybody screaming and jumping to flush, people on ICQ telling their fellow subteam members to dump whatever amount of blocks is on the proxy. I even started calling some friends that run my cows, just said FLUSH, no questins asked...
That's organizing!

Thanks for the competition TA, and oh yeah, there is no team that will be in #1 overall except DPC. I'd bet my mother for that

Wonder what Dnet thinks now, after nailing their system with that much. Didn't they say in the past not to do that?

poohke & smukkel,

You talk like the war is over. You have won but a battle. Go ahead, switch to OGR. I, for one, will not miss your disrespectful mugs in rc5. :|
