I believe stupidity is his condition:

A witness said the driver of a burgundy Honda left the scene. One witness said the driver appeared to be an elderly man.

What appeared to be the suspect car, with a dented hood and a shoe on top, was spotted a couple blocks away after the accident. It is unclear whether the driver was still inside

Sounds like the guy had a diabetic episode. My wifes grandfather had one and he high centered his car on the curb and when paramedics got there he was still pushing on the gas.

this guy in his 70s or 80s almost hit me once cuz he ran a red light. the light turned red for him and i started crossing. he was far away so i assumed he would stop when he reached the light, but he didnt, and he almost hit me. i didnt even know he was there until i heard a car screech. i looked to the left, and an inch away from me was his car. he didnt say anything. just kept looking forward. and i moved on.

My grandfather is nearly 80 and let me tell you, that man can drive like he's 21 again. It's funny riding with him because he calls women half his age "old bags" and stuff as he passes them. I swear he hasn't lost a step behind the wheel over the years.

I had a friend who died from a car accident. An elderly lady hit him at an intersection - totally her fault. She turned at an intersection on a green and plowed into my friend who was on a scooter. I've seen sooo many old poeple driving very dangerously - scares the poo outta me. Now I know that without the ability to drive themselves, many of the elderly lose a lot of freedom,etc - but when they endanger other people regularly - they should be taken off the road. They need ot be more strict when it applies to elderly people and driving lisences.
