You're against free education? Talk about class warfare.

I saw that and quit reading. Then I agreed with his first line, but for different reasons.

man, the partisan hacks really stand out in this thread, you people are pathetic to even think she made a credible interview. you guys shouldnt even be allowed to vote. why the hell do you give all your candidates a free pass? What is so wrong with criticizing your own candidates to get them to prove themselves? why do you blindly just go with what they say?

we the american people need to see the journalists as interviewers interviewing the p/vp for a job and if they give a piss poor response like palin did how the fuck can you even consider hiring them for a high up position in your company?

As you can see from my posts, I am not giving a free pass. That does not mean I am willing to let Obama loose in the White House. Again, there are just too many issues on which I disagree with the Democrats.

as an independent, and someone who doesn't really follow politics too closely, I'd like to ask what are these issues you disagree on with the Democrats?

Well according to most on the forum, I am stupid (for being religious).

Senator Obama is religious. So are countless liberals.

Saying that, I disagree with their stance on abortion, gay marriage.

Nothing wrong with that.

I also don't think that national healthcare or free education would be a good thing.

One of the basic tasks of any government is to have a healthy and progressive citizenry. I don't understand how you can have education be a private affair either considering a smart, progressive people is a smart, progressive nation.

I also realise that a politician is a politician and none of them are looking out for our causes.

You sound cynical. But you have no one to blame if you keep voting the same way because a politician in office for a long time will care less and less about you. This is especially true if you don't hold him accountable. This is all the more true considering the record deficit we've had with Republican Presidents since Reagan.

They each play their own game and make sure their party or even their own is taken care of regardless of the consequences it brings to the nation.

We live in a democracy. Hence, if you keep voting Republican (or Democrat) because of wedge issues like gays and abortion, don't expect the politicians to take you seriously. Worse, you may end up electing an extremist into office.

Okay, so you think that I should have to pay for everyone to go to college? You think I should have to pay for everyone else's healthcare when mine is high enough already.

So, why do you think I am stupid? Because I don't agree with your thoughts on things?

One trillion dollars would pay for over 33 million students to go to college for four years (assuming about 30 grand per student). This is roughly double the number of students currently enrolled in college nationwide (16.9 million)

Providing equal means for everyone who wants to improve their future careers and lives through higher education without incurring burdensome personal debt is obviously horrible policy. The money would be far better spent lining the pockets of irresponsible fat-cat Wall Street billionaires.

The same choice would be made if Clinton was still in office.

Didn't someone pay for you to go to school? Did you not benefit in any way from public education? There is no greater investment in the future of this country than education.

Education has been and always will be the great equalizer in our society, and your opinion, is about as unamerican as it gets.

Ah, you meant college ... hard to tell with all the wackos that want to privatize k-12 already.

Now I don't think you're stupid.

No, I don't know how that goes. Please explain if you are trying to say that Obama is a racist hate monger or not.

Ahh another Rev Wright reference.

Right he hates America and white people.

I've watched those clips over and over again and I still don't get it. Could someone please explain to me what is so racist and america hating about what he said?

Oh right, it's open to interpretation. Well in that case, I believe squirrels are unamerican and racist, don't ask me why, they just are.

No I don't. There is real racism in this country, much of it directed at people who are black or just not "white". Denying this is pure fallacy.

Things are better than they were but they aren't perfect. You can criticize this country legitimately for over-promising and under-delivering which we do consistently on a wide variety of issues.

That is what he was doing and he is entitled to say what he wants. I certainly haven't heard any kill whitey language there.

Anyways, back to the topic.

Here is part II, Palin again tries to explain why being near Russia gives her any foreign policy experience.

I actually think this is much worse than it was before, she doesn't stumble here, she falls down and then buries herself alive.

Part II

I don't see how she is any scarier than the thought of having Quayle a step away from the presidency back in the day.

I'm not sure how that counts as foreign policy experience but I actually found myself cringing as she spoke. She giggled like a teenager. Awful.

Here's the transcript, reading it however doesn't really convey the impact, you have to watch the video, it's painful.

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--

COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

We'll all have a beer and share a good laugh on November 5th about all this.

Sarah Palin? For VP?

The good news is, Bush 41 didn't die or become incapcitated in office, and we never had to find out how bad things could get under a brainless twit like Quayle.

McCain and Palin are truly "Dumb and Dumber." As bad as McCain is, there's no excuse for taking that kind of chance, again, with Palin.

I have heard it all (rev W's rant), like most of us... I don't see where he is racist, I see where he is very angry about racism being perpetrated on blacks... Nowhere do I see him being racist. I see he is angry at the way our country has treated blacks... I dont see hi hating America. I see him as an angry, bitter old man that cant get past the crap that went on when he was a young man. Its not like that any more... Today, the racist is the social outcast.
