She's the one who claimed Alaska's proximity gave her FP insight, not the media. The media didn't invent that quote to mock her and she apparently has no intention of making a retraction. If anything she's doubling down.

What the hell is this woman talking about?

Couric: Would you say you know John McCain pretty well by now?
Palin: I would say that's right Katie.
Couric: What type of underwear does he wear?
Palin: Depends, Katie.

I've watched those clips over and over again and I still don't get it. Could someone please explain to me what is so racist and america hating about what he said?

Oh right, it's open to interpretation. Well in that case, I believe squirrels are unamerican and racist, don't ask me why, they just are.

He says US of KKK A. You don't think he doesn't hate white people or America?

I'm still waiting for you to tell me if you think Obama is a racist hate monger or not. It shouldn't be a hard question to answer.

Are you attempting to say that Obama is a racist hate-monger?

No, but his preacher for 20 years was and you know how that goes.

I think you should watch this video, especially starting around 7:15 or so as Sarah gets prayed over to protect her against . . . WITCHCRAFT . . . in the name of Jesus!

Remember, this is not something her pastor said at a sermon where Palin, like Obama with Wright, wasn't even present.

This is Sarah Palin, participating in what I can only label a form of "Christianity" so primitive and debased that it falls to the level of paganism.

And she's right there, soaking it all up, in the name of Jesus!

If this doesn't scare you about the mindset of this bimbo, I don't know what would.

witchcraft!? Hmmmmmm... I can see praying to protect her soul from satan and his followers. Or praying to Jesus that he guides her every decision while in office.

but witchcraft!? That seems archaic. I guess witchcraft is a form of satanic worship.. shrug.

As a voter we really should take religion out of the equation. Black Theology is obviously just as controversial to some people as 'Assembly of God' is to others. John McCain is a Christian when it suits him, at best, and Biden is catholic and catholicism has its own set of problems.

As a Christian this is how I spend my .02

edit: wow waaay off topic. To get back on topic I think Katie Couric is better suited as McCain's VP

*evil grin, hides voodoo doll*

Well she seems like a total nutjob, but Bobby Jindal comes off as a rational, intelligent, eloquent person, yet he believes he experienced a real possession and exorcism. When Kucinich saw aliens no one could be surprised, but Jindal seems normal. I just don't get it.

Well there is certainly some truth to that, but I still believe very few people, particularly in the general public that does not follow politics as closely as many people here, will actually vote based upon who may be the potential VP.

She doesn't seem to understand that being close to Russia does not give her foreign relations experience. She sincerely seems to believe that she is some sort of ambassador because Alaska is close to two countries. HEY, don't forget, she's also next to Canada!

Catholicism = Christianity = Catholicism = Christianity = ...

Seriously, they're the same damn thing.

Religion should be IRRELEVANT. I almost wish all candidates were devout atheists, then we wouldn't have worry about pleasing the Bible belt.

OMG, the second part of the Couric interview was even WORSE!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nokTjEdaUGg

She reminds me so much of a beauty contestant trying to find clever-sounding answers to the questions. But she just fails. Aside from the ridiculous things she is TRYING to say, holy run-on sentences batman! She makes Bush look good in terms of grammar.

That's true and that's the scary thing. Bush was looked and sounded worst than this lady, and that guy is the current commander and chief. Hope just continues to slip away with each passing election. Can we at least try someone intelligent this time around. Do we really want a bar buddy running the show?

It's like this. When you elect a retard to run the country, he/she is just a puppet and will easily be influenced and controlled by lobbyist. If there is an intelligent person in there, he might be influenced, but at least he can think for himself and hopefully us and can look the other way.

I'd agree if Mac had picked Romney or some other milquetoast, but picking the second woman makes this a spotlight year for vp, just like it did for ferraro. Women numbers were way up for dems that year, and it wasn't a coincidence.

Surprise Surprise! Mccain wants to ditch Vice-Presidential debates too..

McCain Camp: Let's Push Back Biden-Palin Match-Up, September 24, 2008 7:04 PM ABC News' Teddy Davis and Rigel Anderson Report: The McCain campaign told ABC News on Wednesday that John McCain wants to postpone Friday's presidential debate until Thursday, Oct. 2.

The Arizona senator would like the vice presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, which is currently scheduled to take place on Thursday, Oct. 2 in St. Louis, Missouri, to be scheduled for a later unspecified date.

The details about what McCain is seeking, which were provided by a McCain aide who spoke on the condition of anonymity, came a few hours after the Republican presidential candidate announced that he was suspending campaigning so he could return to Washington, D.C., to try to forge a consensus on a financial bailout package.

McCain's public call for a debate delay was rebuffed by Barack Obama who joined fellow Democrats in arguing that a president needs to be able to multi-task.

"I believe that we should continue to have the debate," Obama said in Clearwater Florida. "It's my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess."

http://blogs.abcnews.com/polit...9/mccain-camp-let.html

Remember, Mccain wanted to delay HIS debate to Thursday October 2nd, which **just happens** to be the date Palin is scheduled to debate Biden. Now that he is trying to push back hers as well, it seems obvious to me that this was the plan from the beginning and the whole "going back to Washington" thing was just a distraction. He is desperate to give her more time to be coached.

Generally, the VEEP nominee gets very little in the way of coverage. In this election, that generality has been turned on its head. Palin is getting huge press, primarily because she is proving to be so laughably inept. With McCain's ex-wife being Eve, Palin's candidacy is more pressing than ever. People ARE paying attention, and particularly women.

Let's bring this back on topic - Sarah Palin is a poor candidate for vice president, and the Republicans are trying to push back her debate as quickly as possible for as long as possible because she's completely inept.

Let's see a VP debate already! If she's really a suitable candidate, then she should be able to get on stage TODAY and debate well! Why are the Republicans so damn afraid to have the debates as scheduled? The election is nearly a month away, let's do this!

I'm guessing that she was coached to say that "it's funny that a comment like that was used to caricature me" or something along those lines. She forgot or didn't want to mispronounce "caricature" and got rescued by Couric's mock. It also sounds as if she mishandled her Russian / Alaska answer, mixing the two answers of how Putin flies through Alaskan airspace and how the US is launching military reconnaissance planes from air bases located in Alaska.
