You could easily put a Saab jet engine in the volvo and give it thousands of HP.
I'll pay you $1000000000 to do it for me!

Do you also like to pay twice as much?
I'd take the Volvo. The Audi looks like a$$ in comparison.

What are you talking about. The current '02 S4 Avant goes for $41,000. I doubt that the new one will raise prices THAT much. I hope you're not pulling that "twice as much" price out of your a$$
As for the looks. The Audi is elegantly beautiful. The V70R is a flying brick with some soft edges
Also, the next S40/V40 will share platforms with the next-gen Ford Focus and Mazda Protege...LMFAO

Personally, both nice cars, but seems like apples and oranges to me. Of course others may disagree.
Let's see:
1) Both are wagons
2) Both seat 5
3) Both have 300+ HP
4) Both have AWD
5) Both have 6-speed manuals
6) Both go like stink
I'd say they're pretty evenly matched

That's wicked.. my friend had a 740 with about 480,000 kms on it.. finally broke down for the last time and became too expensive to fix. (got rid of the car)
Volvo has an amazing track record for reliability.
We've got a Dodge Ram 350 at work (RAM VAN) that has just about 800,000 kms on it.

I'm curious. What do you drive, NFS4? I'm hoping that it's something cool, considering that you seem to follow European sports car and luxury car news pretty closely.

Yeah, for a dodge () those vans are hard to kill.
Volvo's use strange engines.... weird gearing... they are just so different.
One of our cars was a 5 cylinder! Probably not uncomon to most, but still...
Wowowowow... arcain[/] Volvo use audi engines??
They're apple and orange in appearance.

and one has THREE less cylinders....
On the other hand, you seems to have a big ego against Ford-owned manufacturers, and an obscene lust for Audis and VWs. You know, that's all find and dandy whoever you prefer, but there is no point forcing your preferences down to other people's throats.
