I'm not a big steak person. I only have them a couple times a year...I prefer chicken actually. Got a good recipe for a T-Bone tho? </end quote></div>

yeah throw it on with a little salt and fresh ground pepper until med-rare.

i think burgers are the best. there are so many things you can do. ground it up with a little cheese and bacon..yumm.

good to see you got a charcoal grill. gas is for women!</end quote></div>

Yeah iamwiz gave me lots of good advice. I'm really looking forward to using it over the summer. And dude...that sounds good. Bacon & cheese mixed in the with the burger....mmm!</end quote></div>

its great. nothing i would want all the time. but every now and then

I love my grills. we grill out at least 3 times a week. even into the winter (had pics of me grilling steak at 30 degrees with snow on the ground heh).

30, thats it? Ive done -10 F. You wouldn't believe the amount of charcoal it took to make some burgers and brats.

I just bought a new Weber (22.5" Gold) this past weekend.

I have been using a gas bbq for the last 7 years and wanted to get back to the basics. I used a charcoal bbq all through college and loved it.

You should buy some mesquite or hickory wood chips to liven things up a bit. Like these

Be sure to get a smoker box too (Link

Best $15 you will spend. Smokey goodness...

$15?! That had better be rare wood

I get mine at Meijer for next to nothing. My smoke boxes are from Ikea's As Is section.

Try doing a 6 hour rib smoke when it's that cold. I had the BBQ sauce freeze in the tub as I was slathering it on at the end of the cook.

Haha. I spent $15 on the smoker box, a 5 pound bag of hickory chips and a 10 pound bag of mesquite chips. I thought it was pretty cheap actually, considering I probably won't go through the chips this season.

Yeah a porterhouse is a T-Bone with a large fillet. Large can be ambiguous so what one person calls a T-Bone another will call a porterhouse.

Honey Mustard Chicken and Corn on the Cob is on the menu tonight:

http://orionmods.com/temp/chicken.jpg

I'm using this recipe from All Recipes:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/H...ed-Chicken/Detail.aspx

I need to work on my timing. Most of the recipes for grilled corn I've read say to soak the corn in the husk for at least 30 minutes before grilling so that you get some steam action going. Right now the cobs are wrapped in tinfoil with butter. Mmm, butter.

Corn will take a lot longer than chicken. Usually 5 minutes per side. I like to keep the husk on during the entire grilling time. It gets some smoke in there and gives it an earthier flavor.

Definitely...I soak them in water for a while before I put them on the grill first though...keeps them from drying out as much. Sometimes I use sugar water but the corn we get around here is usually pretty damn good so it doesn't really need it.

Just finished dinner...the chicken was PERFECT. Probably the most tender chicken I've ever had. The corn was a little crunchy but very tasty. Threw it in with some salad, Newman's grape juice, and some sweet watermelon.

I'm hooked

Congrats. I know someone who has that same grill. After about 3 uses he had a problem with the mechanism that raises and lowers the rack. A few minutes on the phone with the manufacture and they sent out a replacement free of charge.

Congratulations are in order. Seriously though, I am curious.

Me too. I don't think I even know anyone over the age of 12 who hasn't grilled a burger. I'm guessing his parents were militant vegans or something.

Maybe a different culture.. I remember I got a friend from school hooked on burgers. He was in his 20's, never even tasted one.. Of course once he had one, he was hooked.

Problem was, his family was from India.. Apparently he wasnt supposed to be eating beef + they busted him with Nations ( local burger chain ) wrappers in his car.. He said he almost got thrown out of the house for that. heh

My parents aren't vegans, lol. I've grilled burgers on a George Foreman grill. Just never had my own real grill

Yeah it's kind of a cheapie, but it works fine for free. I'm planning on a Char-Griller down the road. This is a great one to learn on though.
