Who's bought a TouchPad so far?

Well I hope a charge means they have it in stock and able to ship them, but you never know. Anyway one of our friend is able to get us a 32GB for $100 thru employee discount, so no loss for me if B&N cancelled it. If it ships it'll be great, I can either make a profit or gift it to someone in the family.

That is what I am hoping too. Also, I would like one of those 32 GB haha.

I really just want this B&N order to go through!

Eh, I ordered a case and screen protector on ebay around the same time. Both of those have shipped so if I don't et the table I'm only out $20. I'd just like to use the funds for something else obesides the Best Buy Waiting Game if they are going to cancel it.

Just like B&N, you can't even call onSale. You just get disconnected, but at least onSale doesn't make you go through a bunch of data entries to only get disconnected a few minutes later. :\

Yea, I'm interested in the Touchstone stand. Apparently the USB charger that comes with it is 5v 2amp and it doesn't like to charge at less power according to a youtube video. So, USB charging from desktop won't work.

If I need a special charger, I might as well get the charger stand if it's cheap..

I was able to get a hold of a CSR through Barnes and Noble. I called using the FastCustomer app and it connected me right away.

Anyway, the rep said that since there was such a HUGE influx of orders for the device and it sold out extremely quickly, they're placing holds on everyone's order so that the people who purchased first and foremost get their's and that they will be sending out emails today or tomorrow to let the customers know if their's was fulfilled or not. I ordered mine extremely quickly last night before it sold out so I'm hoping mine gets fulfilled.

It's fine. People view video content on 3.7 inch phones. My daughter watches all her cartoons like Teen Titans, Justice League, etc on her iPad and used to watch Netflix all the time on it til I canceled. That has the same 4:3 screen as the Touchpad.

Touchpad can play 1080p high profile MP4 videos without problem. 720p high profile is piece of cake for this device. Contrast that to any of the Android Tegra2 Honeycomb tablets that chokes on any 720p high profile videos.

I can understand nitpicking if this device was $500-600. But it's $99 and its 1080P video capability is only matched by iPad2 and Blackberry Playbook. Tegra2 Android tablets are not even in the same league.

I bought one. Wife is a professor so I got in on an academic purchase very early on from HP direct. No tracking number yet, but I am fairly confident it will ship. I didn't really have much of a need for a tablet but at this price it should be a fun toy.

All my contents are 480 or 720p. I really don't care about 1080p since I watch almost everything through AppleTV and its output is limited to 720p. But I don't want to have to re-encode my video collection just for a tablet like I would with Tegra2 Honeycomb.

I'm just saying I would worry more about if the tablet can actually play 720p or 1080p high profile videos more than worrying about 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. Sure 16:9 would be preferred for video but 4:3 isn't that bad. At least the videos will play on the Touchpad.

Exactly this, it isnt that it has a 720p display but that it can play 720p content and it not only plays it but it plays well. It also looks decent and is certainly acceptable for plane, road trip, train, doctors office, light snack at starbucks, shitting, laying about on the couch, etc... and FFS $99 bucks? Sign me up!
