First of all, its Cathlics/Orthodox. Because it all started out as 1, but then the Church St. Sofia seperated from the Church in Italy due to money and greed on both sides.

catholics are iffy about being truly chirstian in my book.
To be truly Christian you have to believe Christ died for you sins and by believing this you can be saved.(John 3:16) You are saved by God's grace not by works.
Reason I don't think catholics subscribe to this:
that x amount of Our Fathers is penance for your sin
7 sacraments
baptism = salvation
say the pope is infalliable
All this being said I am a Christian
I agree with you but I'd rather not get into it here.
I agree as well. Not to mention the idolization of Mary.

What is a "Christian"?
A self centered God loving person that condemns everything that isn?t Christian?
A person that say, its craps if it is not Catholic?
Or, a person that love others regardless of their religious/non-religious believe?
<-- A bitter atheist that was forced to attend Sunday mass & served as alter boy by my God loving Catholic mother.
i'm a bitter christian for the same exact reasons as you.... doesn't stop me from having faith, though.

same here. Christian fundies make me hurl. I don't think G-d takes kindly to them using His name for their own ill-gotten gains or illogical morals either.

Why do you censor the word God, yet you capitalize the G?

illogical morals i won't agree with however, unforunately, there are a lot of people who call themselves chrisitans who will misuse their status, religiion, etc. For this I am sorry as a Christian as it does not reveal the true nature of being a follower of Christ. We are not perfect, we are sinners and I apologize for myself and others who probably try to present ourselves as somehow better than those who are not Christians.

To summarise, we're given the choice. To live with the lifegiver. Or without.
hell, gaol, jail, etc was the old hebrew term denoting the "burning dump outside the city walls" where all refuse was thrown.
to choose the latter results in your final eternal demise. just becuase the "smoke of their torment rises forever" doesnt mean an actual eternal fire.
And I dont think my loving god could burn the ones who reject him forever. he simply allows those not wanting to live with him...to live without. And life without the penultimate source of life...is death. Or so methinks, if you ascribe to the the commonly held christian view. too many fundamentals (we are all anthropomorhic) apply their own view, feelings, to interpretation and disposition re; wrath of god. Its their own creation, holding their own biases, vengeance, retribution. And doesnt take into account longsuffering mercy, payment of the penalty by another, and assumes to know the mind of god. A creator god couldnt destroy his creation, instead wants to save all. there are some who refuse, and he allows all to chose own destiny.

I concur. You are saved by God's grace.
Isn't that the principle behind Lutheranism. YOu dont need to pray through Mary or the pope to reach God or Jesus?
Dont get me wrong though, the pope, John Paul in particular was a spectacular man. His actions and words gave hope and influenced so many lives. A very holy and incredible man; he will be missed. I do not however believe i have to go through him to pray to my God.
