I have basic cable for $11.95 per month. If I didn't have it my local Internet provider charges an additional $15 per month for not carrying cable TV, so I'm saving money and getting the major networks and some other crappy channels while saving $3. At one time I had everything, including all the HD channels, pay for networks, and 2 HD-DVRs. It was expensive but at times seemed worth the $84 a month I was paying. Then they decided to go up $15 a month for the exact same service and I decided it wasn't worth it and cut back to basic cable.
There are a few TV shows I sort of keep up with, but they can all be viewed on Hulu or even on the broadcasters' own sites. As for the person who mentioned DLing the shows, there's not much difference between DLing and watching it online. You're DLing to your computer either way. TV on BT is pretty widespread and to my knowledge not a single person has ever been arrested for downloading a TV show. That still doesn't make it legal however, as such are still copyrighted.
