Who's going to Miro Center 1/9/2011?

I got curious and using their website, here is a readout of the quantities they of two processor types at microcenter OC:

20+ units - Intel Core i5 2400 LGA 1155 Boxed Processor
17 units - Intel Core i7 2600 LGA 1155 Boxed Processor


Doesn't seem all that many. I wouldn't be surprised is "20+" meant something like 25.

My guess would be that unless you are, at most, #50, in line at Microcenter, you probably won't get what you want (especially since most are gunning for i2500k)

But I'm sure 2 weeks to one month later you'll casually walk in and easily pick one up xD

When you go to check out, your only option for "shipping" is in-store pickup.

I would guess that until someone is in the store and actually grabs and confirms the stuff is set aside you wont get an email until then.

You will not get a confirmation email until about 1-1.5 hours before the actual opening time of the store. That's been the case for me on several MC orders.

Wow seriously 200 miles? You will end up losing money compared to buying it online. Factor in gas, miles on the vehicle, wear and tear, tax and it will cost you money.


I seriously can't convince myself that this is the better platform than X-58. 2 8x pcie slots or 1 16x and dual channel ram kills it for me.

2500k is only $45 more than MC @ Newegg and for most no tax either. If you're driving an insane # of miles and waiting in line for a $25 savings then more power to ya.

Ordered mine from MC at 4:30 EST. A couple of mobo combos available at the bottom of their big announcement. I picked up a 2500K ($179) and P8P67 Pro ($189) for $339, which includes an additional $30 discount for the bundle. Only problem is the bundle discount didn't appear in my cart, so I printed out the page to take with me when I pick it up. Now it's just a waiting game for the confirmation that they're ready!

I'm almost certain that they don't allow you to reserve online. At least that's what my MC told me.

Online reservation worked fine for me (Rockville, MD store). Added to cart, only purchase option was in store pick up, filled out an info form, and received a confirmation page telling me I'd receive an email when it was ready.

The guy that I talked to at MC told me that you can try and reserve online, but he said that it's likely they won't accept the reservation (Dallas, TX) since the whole point was to get more people into the store.



I dunno though, I guess it just depends on the MC.

I did my online reservation for the i5 2500k/Asus P8P67 bundle for the Richardson store...guess we will see what happens...

$299 for the board and processor ($170 savings from 'regular' price)....not bad...not bad at all...

What are you guys talking about? I just ordered from Microcenter online and it's being shipped to my home in Florida (I don't have any MC near me). It cost me 185.98 out the door which is still significant savings over NewEgg.
