All these new cars look like jelly-beans. I want an SUV that looks like a 1970s Toyota Scout.
I'm curious as to which will have the better record. A friend of mine has a RR Sport, and his has been in the shop almost longer than he's driven it. I love Range Rover's styling, but they really need to work on reliability.damn. you spend a lot on vehicles.
I hope your defender lasts. the TFL truck guys based just a few miles from here ordered one and it came from the factory with a bad engine, they got another and the dealer accidently bricked it, and they are on their third truck.
I've bought exactly three new vehicles in my life. 1993 Ford Ranger Sport. Nothing nice about it, except it had AC. Fast forward almost 30 years later and bought 2 within 4 months. I was a little leary about buying the Defender to be honest, from their very public track record or reliability. The Mach-E should fare better, hopefully. Traded my Maserati in on it. Guy at Ford was taken aback.
But to be honest, the Mach-E gets more looks, more pictures, taken, and more people coming up and making conversations than the others. The Defender get a lot too, they're still hard to get. Especially like ours. Yet Mach-E gets the most.
I like both for different reasons. Both have a new infotainment system with issues. Remote starting via phone, climate control via phone, phone as a key, etc. Bound to happen.
For me, felt like it was time to be a bit more practical. My Maserati was a 2014, and tech was far behind the Mach-E. Creature comforts are sometimes worth more than looks, sound etc. The Maserati was very expensive to maintain. And my insurance dropped by $106.80 dropping the Maserati and adding the Mach-E.
Few pics of it cleaned up and windows tinted. Thought about some upgrades, wheels and tires. But I really don't mind them. Tires are just very narrow... Not my favorite. View attachment 40000View attachment 40004View attachment 40002View attachment 40003View attachment 40005
That's after we added the side steps and fender guards. Also have since added the tire cover on the back. Waiting for the roof rack, and getting the grey on the front and rear bumper painted black. Then eventually the side ladder. Parts are hard to get. Been having to get from the UK, but there is a delay from there currently.

The door honestly is very easy, and intuitive. The handle feel sturdy, not cheap. It's very sleek looking. It's something I was a bit worried about before test driving, but I like it. A lot.

Ended up getting a First Edition two days ago. SO far, REALLY enjoying it. The tech in it is amazing, so many things I like about it. Getting a 240v installed tomorrow for the charger. Pic beside my 1968, and a cluttered garage. Wife's car got put out!

Love the carbon gray color. What is your opinion of the factory B&O sound system in the Mach e? I also would like to know your opinion of the Active X seating material, is at least almost as nice as leather?View attachment 40948View attachment 40949
Thanks, I really enjoy it so far. I am 95% satisfied with it, and think it is fantastic. All reviews I have seen, have said the same thing. They have a hit. Just need a few tweaks. Took a pic side by side the other day when washing them
Got a 3D model in on Tuesday, had no idea they were doing this. It's only for First Edition models, nice little treat.
Very nice. I have to say though, the classic Mustang looks like it is just saying "drive me", while the Mach-e looks kind of cold and distant, like, "I am smarter than you, I will tell you how to drive".View attachment 40948View attachment 40949
