I've had my Soyo mobo for over a year now with no problems. It's not a popular board but I'm glad that I've had very good service with it especially since this is my first build. Tech support is sometimes flaky but who's mobo tech support isn't.

I next board I get is going to be DFI.

If you look at various review sites ASUS generally places very high on the most listings with their various models. This does not include Tyan & Supermicro which are in another class.

Worst - PC Chips

Used to like Gigabyte till I had to RMA a board with burst cap. Took em 6 weeks to fix it. The whole process was long and painful

There was a time several years ago where it was definitely Asus. But drops in quality on their part and improvements in quality on many other manufacturers' part has since made that no longer the case. I recently had an Asus P4 board burn out on me after only days of use. I have the Epox NF4 ultra board and love it. Too many good ones out there now to blindly chose Asus anymore....

ASUS would be the best overall -- various ASUS mobos have performed admirably, from an old Intel BX mobo, to the current NF4-SLI one. Used an ABIT BX mobo before the ASUS one, but it was flaky, which prompted the switch to the ASUS one.

I'm currently using a DFI Lanparty. In the past (say last 6 years) I've (between the computers for me and the wife) have used ASUS, MSI, Intel, Gigabyte, FIC & Tyan. The wifes computer is currently using an Intel. Overall, I haven't had a problem with any of the boards, but then I'm not overclocking them either.

I reckon ASUS is the best overall. In my experience, they have the best reliability, ease of setup, and functionality.

ABit and DFI are both better overclockers/tweakers, but they're harder to set-up and seem to have issues with some components (mainly RAM).

I have gone from Abit (BH6) to Asus (A7N8X Deluxe) to Gigabyte (K8NS Ultra 939). Asus makes a good motherboard, but i have had nothing but trouble from their video cards. I will probably stay with gigabyte in the future.

I own a biostar..pretty bad, basically the cheapest motherboard available, worst performing(they seem to lose all reviews, sometimes badly), not the most stable, and lacks decent overclocking options.

I really wanna give sapphire's new mobo a chance, whenever it's available. Assuming it doesn't cost too much, I'll sell my audigy 2 zs and switch to its onboard azalia audio, but if it costs like $200 then I'll pass on it.

Best Bang for the buck gaming/home PC ... Not sure as of today ... but last time I bought a mobo it was Shuttle

You Do know when you refer to HP almost all of them are made by asus, not just like how Asus makes intels board for them, they are Asus labeled Asus boards.

Best Prosumer Board: Tyan
Most Overrated: Abit/DFI (I here all this wonderfull stuff about how they overclock then Find out that they are a pain to deal with and in the case of old Abit where almost unusable if you were not overclocking)
Worst Mobo Maker: Soyo (5 bad boards baught at 2 different stores local and 1 store online)
