UPDATE
Bought the game, finally. Comes on 5CDs and I got a free HL2 tshirt to boot!
Having trouble authenticating my CD key on Steam, however. Seems they are overloaded at the moment...
Wanna know what's really sad? That enough people don't care about the rights they are losing to discourage vendors from exploiting the ugly side of being a wired community. I shouldn't be forced to create an account, load a bunch of extra crap, and then ask permission to play something that I just paid cash for. I shouldn't have to ask AGAIN if I go to reload it few years later (hoping the vendor still runs validation servers). I shouldn't be locked out of loaning it to a friend or selling it at a garage sale.
Maybe HL5 with charge you per minute and you'll care then.
I'm disappointed about needing to have an online connection to steam to run the game. The reason being is that my buddy and I take turns buying games. He bought FarCry,I was supposed to buy HL2,when we were finished playing them we were gonna swap. It's more affordable that way.Now apparently that can't be done with Halflife2.Too bad.Loved the first one.
i've been playing hl2 so i forgot to update
I finally got it installed, wallpaper is now a HL2 wallpaper, and it's all i do. Speaking of which, my mistress calls, later gents.
I am not playing HL2 yet because first I think that no game should use more that 1 gb on my hard disk. Anyone here have see Need For Speed Underground 2? It uses so much space on HD and it also so silly. I prefer Granturismo 2 for PSX. The movies in NFS U2 are the worst.
