No one trying jellybro? :c y'all aren't flash addicts are y'all.

Far as I can tell, all the roms out right now are completely stock with a few offering some minor themes or other mods that can be applied separately anyway. So I don't really see the point in installing roms constantly. Once a polished CM10 or AOKP comes out everyone's going to switch to that anyway.

I put a CM10 build on my gs3 last night, seems a bit smoother than ICS but it's a very early build so it's still got a ways to go before it's up to full speed. The improvements to the browser are really noticeable though, in ICS it seemed on par with chrome in terms of speed and smoothness but now it blows chrome away, loads pages faster and has smoother scrolling in my experience. It's kind of weird how google has these two browsers going though, is chrome mobile just a side project from another team at google or something?

I believe they intend for Chrome to become the stock browser (at least with Nexus devices), not sure though.

4.1 will make chrome the default browser apparently.

Yeah I found that pretty weird because in the JB changelog they list a bunch of big improvements to the stock browser (and don't really mention chrome), why put all that work into it just to abandon it for chrome?

The other browser will still be in use for now on phones, it's the Nexus tablet that shipped with only Chrome.

The stock browser isn't going anywhere I don't think. Chrome is not part of the aosp builds of 4.1.1.
The fact that the change log had many changes and improvements to it indicates its going to be around.

Have they even said it would be the default browser eventually? I think its the default browser on the nexus 7 but that could just be a test.

I have mROM installed. It's run the smoothest and best for me with the longest battery life.

I recommend that to any of you flashaholics. Check out XDA for the thread on it.

I think it's going to be just Nexus devices moving forward, but then that would mean the Nexus build isn't AOSP, so... I dunno.

Anyone A/B Jelly Belly and Bugless? These seem the cleanest options on VZ at the moment...

Running JellyBelly 3.6. No real problems. I am going to give RootzBoat a try. It is xoomdev & Kejar from Team Gummy. Seems pretty fast & stable.

They need to merge the Browser's quick controls and app redirecting (IE clicking on a youtube link goes to youtube, not youtube.com) with Chrome's device sync. Put the two together so I can finally set one as my default it get's annoying having to tap a link, tap a browser I want, and then tap "just once."

Chrome browser opens up YouTube links correctly for me. >_> I do like the quick controls and the complete full screen of the Browser however.

Hmmmm ok then they must have fixed it, it didn't used to work for me. Guess I'll have to try that one on my own.

I wish more apps would tie into this feature though. I Google search for a restaurant and if it has an UrbanSpoon page it doesn't redirect, it goes to the mobile site, but it redirects for Yelp.

I'm pretty happy with CM9 ICS on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus; everything seems pretty stable. Main "3rd party app" I use is Wireless Tether since I use it to tether my personal laptop at work during lunch to check emails etc.

Is Jelly Belly v3.6 pretty stable for daily use? Does Wireless Tether work on it or is there a built-in hotspot that would work?

Can I revert to CM9 ICS if Jelly Belly v3.6 for some reason doesn't work for me? Thanks guys.

Make a nandroid backup. Flash back if you don't like it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm relatively new to Android devices (previous job mandated we use....Blackberries) and always wonder how "complete" of a backup those nandroid backups in CWM are. So basically I can take a nandroid backup of my current config, mod the crap out of my phone and flashing 3 different ROMs to test/play, and then finally restore the old nandroid backup and it would be as if nothing happened? Or will my modem firmware etc. be "forever changed" due to flashing new ROMs despite the nandroid backup? Thanks again.

It's basically like making an image of a computer, so when you flash it back, you're right back to where it was when you took the backup. CWM takes a total backup including the cache, but other recoveries like TWRP let you not include the cache. Doesn't really matter, it just rebuilds.

Note that the LTE/CDMA radios are not part of the nandroid backup process, or even part of flashing most roms. So any radios you flashed before carry over, and are not touched when you flash a rom. If you want the newest radios you need to flash them.
