What JellyBean rom are you guys running currently? I am on Jelly Belly 3.6 and to be honest, have not been very happy with it. It gets really slow and sluggish throughout the day. I was thinking about flashing the latest version but many people seem to be having issues with it on the forums.

Give XenonHD a try. Best Jelly Bean rom I have tried.

Everyone should try Trinity Kernel. It's not the best with battery, but it has the best, most perfect colours for this screen.

Acer says Jelly Bean updates are coming for several tablets, no names and dates mentioned just yet

Now Acer seems to have been joining the party, at least if we are to trust Dutch website Tablet Guide. The guys at TG are claiming that they talked over the phone with Acer officials, which confirmed that “the company’s tablets will be updated to Android 4.1”.

“Acer expects newer tablets to have no problems with the 4.1 update. For older models, the company is still investigating whether Android 4.1 will function well on the somewhat outdated hardware” says Tablet Guide. However, it’s unclear whether these claims have been discussed with Acer officials, or they are simply the website’s assumptions.

The upgrade to JB 4.1 is expected, but please, please, Acer, make the A110 not suck.

Hmmm, I'll give it a go when I get back. My phones solid at the moment and I don't want to be left without a usable satnav driving across Europe.

Running Liquid JB Beta1, I have no issues at all, it's really fast, and comes with Trinity Kernel built in. This is a great team.

Thats awesome, they're evaluating whether or not 4.1 will work on the outdated hardware, by which, I assume, they mean Tegra 2. Seems to run on the Xoom quite well, therefore it should be an easy 'evaluation'. But, they'd rather you buy the newer tablet.

I'm still using stock ICS on my Verizon Nexus, though we're fast approaching the point where complaining to Verizon about dragging their feet is acceptable.

I'm on Jelly Bean with my Nexus 7.

I must say that this is the first version of Android I would say is as smooth as iOS. I've used iPads (owned the iPad 1 for the longest), previous versions of Android on phones, Windows Phone (including 7.8), and this is the quite possibly the best mobile OS thus far.

I wasn't very satisfied with Android before now, but it's finally met my expectations on the Nexus 7.

I'm really looking forward to Surface/RT tablets coming out, though. We might see some serious innovation coming from heated competition between Google, Apple, and Microsoft. I hope.

Paranoid is pretty sweet. Phablet on the Nexus is perfect.

I'm using the large tablet layout. There are some problems but not so much that its anoyong.

Except when the multitasker button doesn't work

Flashed the 8/7 Bugless last night. No issues (yay), but no big revelation either -- just Google Now, cool app transitions, and a more verbose notifier bar.

Agreed. The lags and stutters from Android 4.0 are gone. Even on the Galaxy Nexus it's night and day. Android 4.0 brought a bunch of nice features to the table. Android 4.1 brought some much-needed smoothness.

Does anyone know how to flash a different kernel into a ROM? Do I flash it like any other package, during recovery?

You should be able to flash it with TWRP or CWM like you would any other package.

Make sure to wipe cache and dalvik cache before you flash the kernel--this won't affect your apps or any settings. The first time you reboot, you may see a popup indicating "Android is upgrading" some number of apps--this is normal. Once your phone's booted up, you can check the ROM/kernel version installed under Settings.

question regarding Project Butter, does this mean only the stock launcher is accelerated or does this apply to custom launchers like CM's trebuchet or Apex or Nova?

Because if it doesn't part of these improvements go down the drain because so many people use custom launchers and even say custom SMS apps.
