I remember saying I was going to try link, but I couldn't find any building blocks that were green. I thought cactus would work, but you can't put it on just anything like with other blocks. Megaman also ran through my head but I couldn't think of anything blue, except diamond... and I wasn't about to build something out of that.

We should extend that wall out further as we build characters. Then it can be known as "that big ass wall with all the characters on it". It's not catchy, but it'll do.

I never really got into it, but I understand the appeal. Its like playing with LEGOs, but better and a helluva lot cheaper. In fact I'm extremely curious as to why LEGO hasn't produced a game like this. Sure, the LEGO brand video games are fun and extremely popular, but they don't really match the original spirit of LEGO like this game does.

Lego has an MMO coming out.

For Windows 7 they are in users\username\app data\roaming\.minecraft\saves I believe.

Crashing in single player or just multiplayer? If it only crashes in multiplayer, try turning view distance from far to normal. That generally takes care of it.

Yeah I thought the same thing when I joined for the first time, knowing how long it took to build a small house in singleplayer. But there are no monsters in multi so that helps.

But what I've found is even if you already have all the raw material to make what you want, it still is going to take a ton of time to do. I have mined all of my materials by myself except some wood recently, but some things were created with materials given to them.

Just get yourself an iron pickaxe, iron shovel, and iron axe. Mine down to the bottom and look for enough diamond to make a diamond pickaxe and diamond shovel (diamond axe optional). Then from there you'll have the tools that make the job go the fastest. It shouldn't take long to make like a tower for yourself with those tools then building something more complicated.

Heh yeah I had a hard time myself. First I built myself a tower because well everyone need to have a tower or house and base of operations for smelting and storage. Then thinking what else to build I just thought about things I'm into. I was going to build a knife but decided to make a pistol.

Next I was maybe thinking of a jet fighter. That would look awful BA way up in the air. Problem is this pistol is taking very long and a jet fighter would be even more difficult.

Yeah it's pretty much hollow. I removed the ladders up the side but once you get to the top there's a few holes to drop down and down at the bottom of the grip there's an exit.

Difficult things are fun, as it gives you a goal so you always have something to drive towards. There's only so much fun you can have mining and dicking around before you get bored. As soon as you start working towards something awesome you lose yourself in the hours it takes to make it.

What do you mean he should? That's basically how it's going to be. It's still very much in alpha, and he updates it regularly enough. By the end the only thing limiting the # of people on a server is going to be the server itself. There's only so much he can do with it on a software standpoint.

Server is back up, had a good run without a reboot, since 8am on Friday, so over 2 days.

Guess I'll start planning to restart it once a day, even on the weekend.
