I was excavating a mountain side because I wanted to build a nice, big house partially into it. As I was putting up the wall I heard running water and went to investigate. I ran all up and down the sides of the mountain and into the valleys around it etc. Eventually I found a small opening with a steep drop off. I fell down and looked around and there was a really pretty underground waterfall. It looked really nice and I get to have it in my little backyard.

No real point to this post I guess. I just wanted to share .

My wife hates you all... but thanks for introducing this game, started Friday and burned a serious chunk of weekend playing. My girls get a kick out of watching Daddy build castles or getting blown up after punching a zombie (reinforcement for the "no hitting" rule I guess?). I'm not sure the fetching Mrs. is entirely sold that it's a valuable educational exercise for the kids (both under 4) but it's certainly better than grinding through an hour of Badlands with them in attendance.

As far as the AT server, kudos to all involved... I've been goofing off in single player and decided to pop over to Krakn's server during my lunch hour to see about staking a claim (thanks for the chest of newb friendly starter items!) but ended up simply wandering through some of the setpieces you have all created... wow.

I been playing too much multiplayer, got around to loading up a single player world of mine over the weekend and the first thing I did was jump off of a mountain without even thinking about it, killing myself instantly.

Hey krakn, any news on when we can see an updated map of the server? I finally found my area on the old one, but now I want to see it with the changes I have made to the landscape.

And I am assuming that the server mapping is something that only you can do right?

Having issues getting Cartograph to render properly on a map the size of the one we're working on. It's over 500MB now.

Still trying to figure out something, will post an updated map as soon as I can create one.

Sounds good, I look forward to it.

Huh... haven't been on in a while but my home spawn tower has been taken down, and the area partially flooded =/

So last night I was just walking around for a while, like away from spawn for no reason. Then when I started the game back up today, the place where I was when I finished walking last night was on fire. I doubt anyone had been by the place, and there was no lava near by.

crap, that sucks.
was it the treehouse?

No, it wasn't very ornate as it was the first thing I tried out while online. But it was very obviously a man-made structure, and it was completely leveled when I spawned. It wasn't wood so it didn't burn down, somebody took the time to mine a relatively large stone/dirt structure away. Then the neighboring lake was a lot bigger than normal.

It's not a big deal, but just frustrating to know that somebody took the time to take down something I took time to put up. Such is life in multiplayer I guess.

Heh, if it was on Krakn's server, that sounds similar to one I found. It's not too far of a walk away from where the spawn location used to be a few weeks ago (if it has even changed). That cave was pretty awesome...LOTS of underground waterfalls, huge drops, eventually lots of lava falls mingling with some of the waterfalls. I didn't quite hit bedrock simply by following the already existing paths, but it was close. It took me a couple hrs to find a dead end, and when I did...a short excavation later lead to another series of caverns, then another. I mined a good chunk of rare ores down there, but they were still on my person when Krakn had to remove our inventories.

I haven't been on in a while, simply because I've been playing other games, but exploring the natural structures in this game can be amazing. (sorry if that kindof stuff lead to some of the stability issues )

Someone greifed my underwater tunnel at the castle. I'm not happy.

What did they do?

Once I am done with my greenhouse I am thinking about making it public, but I would still get really annoyed if it got griefed.

They knocked out a bunch of the glass blocks and flooded it. They also stole about half my torches, which were a pain to replace because they were under the glass floor.

Jeez, that is just lame.

The premise si, you make your own premise. It's about as openended as you can get. Some people who are used to structure and scripted gameplay wont like it. But the people who always liked games where they made their own way will love it. it's not for everyone. But if you make a game that appeals to everyone then it wont be that great.
