I wish, at this point it looks like Hey0 has completely abandoned his mod and something called Bukkit will be replacing it in around a week.

I keep checking, but haven't seen anything released yet.

Yesterday it seemed like damage was off on the server. Mobs were on, and I was losing armor points, but my health never changed. All of a sudden today I jump down a big cliff and almost die!

Anyway though, I like the damage and mobs and I think PvP on. A few servers I've played on either get way too laggy with more than a few people on and have jerks that just cut you down while you're unarmed and collecting logs. I realize it's PvP but c'mon that's just stupid. And that chaos.discovr.us server is okay but it is just nuts and can get really laggy if you can even get on it. So I think Krakn's server with mobs and pvp is perfect!

Also, beta 1.2 increased tool/weapon durability. It didn't say how much but it seems significant. I'd say 33% or even 50% more durable than before. So using stone tools isn't that bad until you can get some iron ones going.

You are making me a sad panda Krakn. Though I do have a new project. I found a snowy island that just has a few low hills, I think I might start making a village. I already have laid out the design for the first house, I think I might start construction tonight.

At this point, even tho there are monsters, they don't seem to do any damage to you, at least last night when I was on, a creeper blew up right next to me and I didn't lose any health.

Well, I would't mind that if they were in game but didn't hurt you. Really it could kind of give you a hint when you're getting close to a mob spawner.

I would just be pissed if I was deep in a mine tunnel system where I had no idea where I was and how to get back but there were still a few side tunnels to check out. Then, a zombie comes up and kills me when I've got 6 diamonds.

Anyway, how do you host your server? I think it would be worth it to me to spend $25 a month to rent a VPS for up to 15 players.

well the new patch fixed my error mentioned above in last post, no more graphical glitches.

Now though i get crashes to a black screen every 10 min, i turned on the limit framerate option though and it seems to be ok now getting 90-120FPS. Guess minecraft just couldnt handle the 500+ FPS i was getting with the limiter off, even though it could till this update

If you're using Win7 64bit, have made sure you're using 64bit version of java, and still getting black screens, try making a new shortcut and adding this entire line in the text box where you locate the .exe to launch (be sure to fix install location):

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx512M -Xms512M -cp "C:\[YOUR INSTALLATION LOCATION]" net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

Damage is on now. I don't know why but all of a sudden in the game I was playing earlier I started taking damage. The day before I was getting bounched left and right by creeper explosions without taking damage. Same as today until I got too used to jumping down far distances and nearly killed myself while I just mined some diamonds and whatnot.

I generally don't find a whole lot of enemies while mining and such. It's mostly just being outdoors at night.

I did find a dungeon very close to the spawn only 10-15 blocks down. I noticed it due to a chunk error where you can see through the blocks all the way down. It was just a zombie spawner. I raided the chest but lit the room and left it so if you want to harvest them just remove the torches.

I am getting a java exception error of invalid argument when trying to connect. This server worked for me when I was using Windows but have since switched to mac. I have triple checked the spelling.

Is there something wrong with the neutral NPCs? I was playing earlier for a few day and night cycles and there were of course monsters and damage, but I didn't see a single pig, sheep, chicken, or cow. Also is there a mod running now for some of the commands? I thought the hey0 didn't work anymore?

Yeah, I've spent some time monkeying around trying to get animals back on, no luck yet tho, busted server mods run rampant.

Also, there may be Ghast floating around in the overworld. Just putting that out there.

Update: Animals seem to be spawning now. Updated to a new unofficial hMod version which seem to fix some issues with the latest beta server build.

I'm still seeing Ghast floating around, I think there's only a handful, I had some fun spawning mobs this weekend, and I had heard that spawning ghast in the overworld meant they would die right away. Apparently, not so much.

Also spawned 100 spiders. That was fun.

Yes when I was on earlier to check if animals were back on, I heard a spider. Then I heard what I thought was a Ghast. I was like WTF am I out of it or something? I didn't venture outside needless to say.

Yeah, I found my tunnel from the end of the Skybridge to the spawn was more useful. I didn't have to worry about falling off during the 10 minute trip that way.

I should jump back on the server, but the last time I did I had no inventory, and was in the middle of nowhere. Plus when I went to punch a tree to make some tools, nothing happened. I was pretty much stuck with nothing, so I decided to log off.

btw, are you planning to turn warping/waypoints back on? that was super useful to be able to check out other people's creations.
