Out of the 25+ items I added to my wish list last night, 0 of them are on sale for prime day. I haven't really looked yet, but I assume there's a link right on their home page with a giant list of all the crap on sale.

Yeah, I was afraid this was going to happen based on their holiday sales, where 95% of it is crap they're clearly trying to clear out and the other 5% of stuff isn't a great deal or is in such limited quantities that you'll never get one.

I was hoping for some good SSD deals, but a Crucial MX100 512 GB for $160 is not a good deal. Try harder, Amazon.

Someone on SD said the $20 off code wasn't working for them, but they may just be retarded. $140 for a Crucial 512 GB SSD is definitely more interesting, but I'm thinking that I'll try to use the code when the Echo goes on sale and just wait for larger SSDs to drop in price.

Meh, if you're going to hype a sale for weeks, you better come through with some great deals. The only thing I've seen really good deals on are the Kindles. I think many of Walmart's competing deals were better to be honest.

it is 4:30am PST. the sale started 4.5 hours ago and people are acting like it is the end of the world. there is still nearly 16 hours left for this to go on.

and i personally didn't see amazon hyping this sale - i saw this thread hyping it.

I only looked at the electronics section and specifically, tablets, on their site. They have some decent deals on iPads ($50+ off per model in most cases), but no iPad Air 2 models for sale except refurbs.

Yeah, I am HOPING they're saving their best deals for those of us in EST. :biggrin: I've got a list of 8 items I'm looking for and I imagine I might end up with another Echo at the end of the day.

As far as hyping it, it was extremely hyped both on their site and in various media outlets. The initial rumor was that EVERYTHING was going to be on sale -- too bad that didn't happen.

When people reference Amazon's Black Friday deals, I consider those everything from Black Friday until Christmas. They have had some great deals in the past (in 2013, I loaded up) but last year it was terrible. The kind of stuff I'm seeing on their sale now is exactly the stuff I saw last year on their holiday sales.

My point exactly - $159 for the MX100 is not a great deal when you can find the 850 Evo for $164 regularly and even in the $150 range on sale.

It was front and center on their homepage, on shark tank, and directly advertised on network TV.

It's basically just a typical day of lightning deals with more items. Amazon has this kind of clearance sale on crap with the occasional good item tossed in sale daily.
