A friend has mine that runs @ 450. Two other friends use them for their backup machines. All are good, reliable overclockers on Abit boards.

My 300/a is still tooling along after many years of faithful service. Gave the pc to my mom last summer, still working great. I've even got a spare 300/a on the shelf in case mine decides it's had enough

I have a retail 300a in the drawer. Ran really well at 450. I tried it at 504, but I think I had other devices that kept it from running at 504.

Have one in a machine I use for some occasional video capture (nothing crazy). That ones a socket 370 (PPGA) chip and runs at 450 at default voltage. I also have an old Slot 1 300a that does 450 at 2.1v but that ones sitting in a drawer gathering dust. Used to be in my wifes PC but it got upgraded to a FC-PGA 566MHz now running at 850MHz at default voltage.

I also had a 533 FC-PGA running at 800MHz that is in my S.i.L's machine.

Thank goodness for competition from AMD or we may never have enjoyed such cheap performance.

I have two sitting on my shelf collecting dust.... I'd sell em. These were the first chips that would overclock by 50%.... to be followed by my C366 and my Duron 600.

EDIT: I take that back... I had a Celeron 266 (No cache version) that ran at 333MHz great.

300a S370 on a slotket, retail boxed. Ran 464 MHz with no problem.

The CPU ran for about two years before going into semi-retirement. Just can't part with it for some reason. Use it from time to time running Linux. Also have a cacheless 300 MHz Celeron slot 1 sitting around not used for anything.
