I've still got my radeon 64 DDR VIVO and have no intention of replacing it anytime soon.... I'm very happy with it, but have yet to try the newest games like morrowind etc... The "black & white" generation games seem just fine with it and I play Tony Hawk 2, Battle Realms, and Dungen Siege just fine with it.

Are ther any games that are "unplayable" with this card. Or any other reason I should consider replacing it? My biggest beef with this card is having to lower the resolution to 800x600 to use TV out. I would rather the TV out signal know the difference and let me keep the computer monitor at 1152x864.

At the moment, I do not intend to replace my Radeon 64 DDR. However, the only game I'm interested in is Unreal Tournament 2003. So if my Radeon 64 DDR doesn't cut it, I may be forced to upgrade...

I hope this card is powerful enough to play the game at an acceptable frame rate at a resolution of 1024x768 (or 800x600, if need be). Only if it really doesn't "cut it" will I consider an upgrade, 'cause I'm trying to stay on budget. I'm not sure yet which card I'd replace it with, however. I have always liked the idea of watching and recording television on my computer, and a video card with a FireWire port would allow me to get rid of the 3-port FireWire PCI card I have installed (and only need for my iPod). So maybe I will get a Radeon 8500DV instead and get rid of my television. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether the Radeon 8500DV is faster than a Radeon 64 DDR, because of the slower memory compared to a "regular" 8500. Anybody know how these (Radeon 64DDR & Radeon 8500DV) compare?

I just sold mine about a week ago. Not really because I needed an upgrade at this moment, but because I got a good deal on a 8500 and was able to sell my VIVO at a good price too.

Well Rad8500DV does use slightly lower clocks to a regular ATI Rad8500, but it will still totally smoke a Rad7500 which will smoke a regular RadDDR. With prices of GF2TI, GF4MX and Rad7500 being so low, it makes little sense in keeping these old cards unless you are happy playing the same old games in relatively low detail and resolutions. With GF3, GF4TI and Rad8500 cards being so cheap and capable, it makes them a very worth-while upgrade. As with anything though, you do have to weigh up whether or not you actually need the upgrade for what you do, however if you have a 1ghz+ CPU then you really should stick a decent card in there. Just MHO.

i gave mine to my bro in favour of a GF4ti 4200

i love it though and makes sure he always has latest drivers n stuff, it runs anything he plays perfectly and the only game he has to reduce quality dramatically to play is GTA3 - but it runs smooth!

I had troubles playing GTAIII on my VIVO also. That was kind of another reason I wanted to upgrade. Up until probably that game, everything else ran smoothly. But once I started getting choppy gameplay on GTA, I realized it might have been time to retire the VIVO.
