All that says, Bobber, is that even with the guy's size he still wasn't as good as Bruce Lee. You can't intend for it to imply that strength doesn't help a lot - this guy was larger/stronger and still lost, thus he was much less skillful.

OK. Just pointing it out. Bruce has been dead for nearly 30 years so it doesn't really matter, it's just my opinion that he's the best there has ever been.

Also, one of the reasons that the UFC is grappler-friendly -other than the confining ring- is because of the mat itself. It gives less leverage to the stand-up fighters because of its springy nature while at the same time being ground-maneuver friendly. If it were concrete then I'm not saying all of the grapplers would lose, as many of them are very, very talented. I'm just saying that they might not be so quick to drop to their knees when there's the chance that they could crack a bone or two on impact.

As for tournament fighters or boxers losing in the UFC: of course they would. They don't train for no-holds barred fighting. They train the majority of their careers to make the best of what they have while getting every amount of leeway possible from the rules in place. Change the rules and nearly any fighter would flounder for at least a few moments while they adapted. Not taking anything away from tournament fighters or UFCers...just saying they're two different worlds. Besides, fighting in the "real world" never really solves anything anyways -especially nowadays- so I'd much rather watch a tournament.

In a stand up fight with all the people in their primes, I'd give the nod to Chuck Norris. He was a world champion, I believe. He also tangled with Bruce Lee, at least in a movie. He would've had just as much chance vs. Lee as Lee had vs. Chuck.

Segal is a wuss, Norris would've smoked him.

If you let all the fighters to fight no-holds-barred, I'd bet on Goldberg. None of the others would stand a chance after he tackled them, and remember, Goldberg is a legitimate athelete. He was an all America linebacker at UGA, I believe, and played pro ball.
Despite his size, Goldberg would be the fastest runner of the bunch, as I believe his 40yd time was around 4.5-4.6 secs. He wouldn't be the quickest, but the smaller guys wouldn't be able to run from him, and they would have absolutely no chance once he caught them.
All that crap about them standing back and taking Goldberg (or anyone else that is larger) down with one punch or kick is B.S. It would have to be one lucky, lucky blow, and they'd have only one chance. It's really irrelevant that what he does now is fake.

How about this: Put any of these people in a ring with a quality heavyweight like Tyson, Ali, etc, with gloves on and I say the boxer wins every time. Yes, even if the martial arts guys are allowed to kick.

Of course a martial artist would lose to a boxer if they had gloves on, martial artists need to use more than just a fist. Pit a gloveless boxer against a person decently trained in one of the bone arts like Aikido and the boxer would probably have his arm broken within a few minutes.

Jet Li beat up Bruce lee, you have to be kidding me. here it goes, when you win a karate tournerment, it was done with rules, when you win a street fight, it was done by no rules. When you get into a ring or octagon, you know you are going to fight, so you are trained and ready for it well in advance. But on the streets, you only know you will be in a fight 30 secs in advance, so there is no preperation. So in otherwords, karate tournemnts means crap when you are in a real fight.
