Sean Connery is almost bald, yet ppl accept him w/ a rug, though of course when he filmed Bond he had hair. I hope they don't get someone that is already an established star to play bond. He needs to be played by someone that ppl don't already associate w/ a certain type of role. Though i suppose it worked for Moore, but Bond was basically the same thing that he was playing on the small screen.

He's not hugely known, but has done some good films and is at least a name people recognise. Most of the other names mooted (eg. Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott, Ralph Fiennes) are already known actors so could never be Bond. Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan were both known actors, but not hugely famous when they took on 007 and they are the best".

Everyone over 30 knows Pierce from Remington Steel.
The instant that show started people said, wow he is the perfect guy to play Bond, but his Remington Steel contract forbid him from doing it. So Hollywood had tapped him for the job years ago, and so had the public.

Brosnan's Bond to retire

The most successful 007 of all, Pierce Brosnan, is being pensioned off as James Bond!

Producers have decided that, at 50, he is not attracting young fans and so they will be recruiting a successor for the next film. On the short- list for one of the most sought-after roles in Hollywood are Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Christian Bale, Orlando Bloom and Colin Farrell.


Pierce Brosnan was "optioned" for one more Bond film, meaning if producers still wanted him, they would cast him. However, he has allegedly been told the option will not be taken up for the 22nd Bond film, to be made next year.

I thought they were on #21...
