Who's the oldest serious-training person?

Just curious. When I was growing up, only young people ran and lifted weights (well, except Jack LaLanne). That changed over time, now there are 60- and 70-year olds running marathons. So, for all the middle-aged and older folks reading this, are you doing serious running and/or weigh-training? If so, how has your training program changed over the decades? (I've slowed down a little, but after being at a plateau for ten years, my motivation has suffered).

I'm currently 19 and an exercise bio major at UC Davis. Pretty much, my main goal in life is to be the old, buff guy. There aren't too many to behold, but the ones that are around are a true inspiration. I had a cross country coach that used to do 5 minute mile repeats for 5+ miles with little rest... when he was 50-55. He had to finally give up running 'cause he was a long distance runner for most of his life and his achilles tendon had to be surgically repaired twice. I still maintain a ton of respect for the man, since he can still do 20+ dips in a row and he's in his mid 70's. Sorry to hop in this thread, as I'm not old, but I thought I'd express my respect for those who maintain their fitness goals as they get older.

I'm 53. I've gone from lifting heavy to a more moderate weight due to a back problem and I've really kicked up my cardio. I still lift 3 times a week but I do cardio at least 4 times a week with 3 days dedicated just to cardio. I was looking over that thread about goals in 2008 and came to the conclusion that my goal is to just be able to keep up the pace I'm at now and for the next 10 years if possible.

While I was lifting today, the guy next to me was deadlifting 360. He was also in his 60's, fucking awesome.

i'm 52. workout recovery & injury avoidance/recovery are big issues now.
i used to jog & do long-distance bike rides until i started weights.
i planned to lift heavy until they pried the bar from my cold, dead fingers, but may have to modify that goal a bit, he-he.
