who's your most & least favorite Food Network personality?

Most: Alton Brown, mainly because he's a food nerd that wants to teach people how to cook. He's not a chef that owned a bunch of restaurants, just a guy who has some culinary education and has a good way of re-delivering that education.

Least: Guy Fieri... because duh

As an aside, every single female I know hates Alex Guarnaschelli with a fiery passion. I'm not a fan of her, but don't hate her as much as the females I know. Is that a common thing?

When it first started, I didn't like cutthroat kitchen either. But watching it with the SO made it more entertaining. We get to point and laugh and all the absurd things that have to be dealt with. Watching it alone isn't as good.

The best ones were when the judges played against each other, because they were all having fun with it which made it pretty entertaining. These guys seem so serious when they're judging things, but when they're not judging you find out they actually have personalities and a sense of humor.

The new cooks vs. cons show is pretty stupid though. Geoffrey Zakarian is hosting and he's like forcing himself to act goofy as a host and it just doesn't fit. He's always so serious on chopped and I don't buy his fake goofiness as a judge. It's just awkward.

Best: Giada. Great rack, great smile and she doesn't make me hate her. And that's what most of the Food Network people do, they try so hard to be memorable that they become hate-able phonies.

Favorite: Alton Brown. He's become a bit of a caricature of himself since Good Eats ended but the delight he takes in others' misfortune on Cutthroat Kitchen is still amusing.

Good: Dunno, none? I don't really watch Food Network anymore because their personalities and shows are just so bad. If I want a food-related show I'm much more likely to watch Travel Channel for Zimmern, Bourdain or Richman.

Bad: As noted above, pretty much all of them. Burrell- Annoying. Needs to shave her head. Ray- Annoying. Conant- Pompous. Zakharian- Constantly contradicts himself. Guarnaschelli and Freitag- Can't take them seriously. They were the first two off the first season of Next Iron Chef, and it wasn't even a close competition. They had no business competing and have no business judging.

Worst: Guy Smiley. Or maybe it's Guy Fieri. I don't know, I get all of those Muppets confused.

I pick Karl Pilkington even if he's not on the list of approved subjects. He travelled the world and ate some pretty awful or interesting stuff and is hillarious and awesome.

Otherwise, if only "Chefs" are included, Action Bronson is hillarious in his Fuck, That's Delicious series on ViceLand.

The wife watches more cooking shows than I, I used to watch a lot of MasterChef: The Professionals and liked the crew they had there.

I forget the woman's name on there, but she could make "Pros" sweat bullets in tests most of the time.
