It's a serious statement, without calling any members out; some have complained how little they have in life already.
Who is going to make them a target?

Owning insurance makes you a target.
Maybe don't try harder, just try better.
Well I wouldn't peg someone with a 1978 beater as a cash cow, chances are they have the least amount of coverage allowed and from a horrible company.
I carry 100/300/100 plus un/underinsured motorist of 50/100.
My car is 1 year old.
Meanwhile many here are struggling in life and going out buying handguns for protection, cameras for security and other things worth far more than what they have to lose.
Doesn't make sense other than love of gadgets.
Are most of you even at risk for a scammer? I doubt they focus on beater cars.
Same video.
First car exits at last second, cutting second car off, causing second car to stop, camera vehicle hits second vehicle from behind.
I don't see the scam.
I see following too close and not paying attention.
Unless there's more info?
I think in Russia everyone uses a dash cam. lol

Looks like following too closely in the video...
What did I miss?

dash cam wouldn't have helped me in that instance (obviously) .
I keep looking at that video and thinking "Wow, all of those jerks passing on the right would be cited if the police saw that.
I think some of the dashcams can cover your rear too. :$
my friend got sued by a fraudster when he was a broke college student. So anyone is a target
If one is worried about their car being broken into for one then it's probably not a great idea.
Same video.

Agree 100%. The car tapped the brakes a couple times, then braked and the bus or whatever it was hit it. Totally the fault of the vehicle that hit them.
I'm looking for a dash cam that looks discrete because I'm afraid of it getting stolen. Does anyone have recommendations?
