Been using the G1W that you recommended op. It works well but the mount kinda sucks since the camera came loose a couple times while driving. Is there a better mount out there for this dash cam?

First car exits at last second, cutting second car off, causing second car to stop, camera vehicle hits second vehicle from behind.

I don't see the scam.

I see following too close and not paying attention.

I've thought of setting up a dash cam, while the odds of a situation like this happening here is very slim, it would not hurt, not to mention you can capture crazy footage with them like if something out of the ordinary happens like a metorite or something like that.

Dailyroads Voyager is a good phone app for free... just need to get a good mount for your phone. Until there's a discreet-looking solution out there that doesn't involve setting up and removing a camera every time you're in and out, I'll go with this.

I think there is a mount that attaches to the rear view mirror itself.

Don't buy till you know it will work in your car or fixs your problem. Just something I saw and might get.

I would check this forum out here to see if others have had that problem and if the newer rear mirror mount works better.

The G1W is the current bang for the buck model. There is also a mount that attaches it to the rear view mirror so its more hidden.

If you have a decent android smartphone there are a couple of apps that will make it a dashcam for you as well. The previously mentioned Daily roads voyager is one and there is another called Autoguard Blackbox that comes in both a free and a paid version that works pretty well.

Trucker definitely in the clear on this one. Truck drivers also need a bumper camera since just in front of the truck is a blind spot from the cab. Clearly he did not hit the car, as there would have been some damage to the car.
