That is the liberal solution to everything ..... stop enforcing the law....

- Let all the illegals in and do not enforce immigration law. We need people to do menial labor and if they dont, threaten deportation. Those who are waiting to immigrate lawfully can just keep waiting.

Trump reduced legal immigration substantially during his term. Let's not pretend this is all about legal v illegal and merely enforcing the law. It's about pure nativism: people just don't want foreigners coming here, especially the brown types. This is a longstanding American tradition going back to the know-nothings in the 19th century.

Most liberals do not support open borders. They just don't want a massive $50 billion+ border wall.

- Legalize pot and /or do not prosecute possession of small amounts of drug possession. The jails are full of harmless addicts who do not steal or commit crime to support their habits.

Legalizing pot is changing the law, not failing to enforce it.

Liberals want court ordered treatment for minor drug offenses. Please provide any sort of data or evidence of any kind that mass incarceration of people for possession of small amount of illicit drugs is a superior policy. We've been doing it for decades and addiction rates have not declined.

- Let retail theft under $950 be a non jail-able offense. Just write them a ticket if we even bother with that much. They are only stealing to survive anyway.

Petty theft is a misdemeanor in every state. Always has been. The cutoff amount changes over time due to inflation. What ever gave you the impression that you face jail time for a first offense of petty theft? In the states with the toughest sentencing, you might do a few days at most. In CA, however, petty theft with a prior petty theft is chargeable as a felony.

- If someone cannot afford bail, let them go under personal recognizance. Surely they wont commit more crime!!

I don't agree with some policy suggestions from the left regarding bail. In CA prop 25 was defeated last year so I'm not really sure what you're on about.

In many countries people are fleeing, the problems in their country are made worse by LACK OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.
In many countries (not all), the police are corrupt, the legal system is broken or cannot effectively deal with criminal gangs / drug cartels / etc.

Which has fuck-all to do with the liberal policies you're complaining about. In Mexico, the cartels go unchecked because they literally partner with law enforcement and government at all levels. You have some evidence that democrats are partnering with organized crime? Of course you don't.

Yawn.

In my case (which was not a home burglary) the officer flat out refused to report anything at all.
That surprises me a fair amount more than them simply not following with any actual investigative effort (as expected, imo). If he refused to file a report, how were you supposed to file a claim with your insurance? Insurance companies always want a police report on the claimed theft/incident.

I'm guessing one of two possibilities: 1) item in question was of negligible value, and/or 2) the officer was extremely lazy with a give-a-shit attitude and didn't want to fill out a form.

I never even thought about that. I did not have insurance on the out buildings, their contents, etc.

I had other items stolen over the years, mainly small power tools. This was the first time I could prove conclusively who did it. The guy took a weber gas grill, which I had a photo of, and he left some of the parts behind including one of the wheels it stands on.

And it starts with allowing criminals to go unpunished.

This is why retail stores are being closed in liberal havens such as San Francisco. Why pay for something when you can just steal it? Forget the Ten Commandments. Forget the law. A 100% discount 24x7x365 simply cannot be beat! And no one will stop me! - unless they close the store.

Now emboldened, smash and grab flash mobs are terrorizing brick and mortar retailers.

Wake up liberals -

The solution is MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT, not LESS.
Stop watching Fox.

If it was the 2nd reason, that police officer should either get fired or be sent back to training.

1. El Cerrito. I believe this was a decision made by the DA. My information came from the officers on the scene.
2. So what? Does that lend some justification to the act?
3. They could knock on doors and see if anyone has security camera footage of the crime, perhaps come up with a license plat number. This is called "police work". When this happens around here they hit the whole neighborhood, not just my truck.

Good god! So a police officer told you something and you immediately took it as gospel instead of doing the very minimum of fact checking them?

I’m guessing you are really old as no one with a decent head on their shoulders would believe such nonsense without doing some basic research.

Nothing about not prosecuting cases of any kind when the evidence is present.

It's always these old limp dicks advocating for a police state. But somehow mask and vaccine mandates are the real threat to their freedumbs. Their brains are so full of fuck, there is no hope for them. Fortunately, it seems like the majority of young people are rejecting their madness. Time is the only cure for what's wrong with this country.

Yes, I'm sure they are going to task their investigative division to track down and solve a car break in. (hint: they will not, and neither will any police force anywhere in the country)

Even if they did, there's no point in responding to you directly - you don't have any information!

We had somebody drive a stolen car through a cinderblock wall to get at an ATM and the cops wouldn't come out even with the alarm going off. A manager had to go to the station to fill out a report so we could file the insurance claim.

Yep, I'm sure they'll get right on Greenman's vehicle break in.

Stock prices must be down when the Felix account is fired back up.

Stocks are up, housing prices are up, crypto is up.....crime is also sky rocketing.

When criminals are in control and people no longer feel safe outside their homes, that means its time to start throwing more people in jail and keeping them there for a period of time. And while there it should be mandatory that they learn some life skills and be treated for drug abuse if applicable.

Also, we should allow reformed criminals a clearer path back to work and not hold their past against them if they have demonstrated they are no longer a threat to society. Staying out of jail and finding some sort of productive pursuit in life would be an example.

But giving into crime is wrong headed and foolish.

So I decided to look at the claims u were making in the first post

I loooked at your first example. And it is completely false. There is nothing close to what you said and what really happened.

so what really happened the law was modified to change the dollar amount between what is a felony and misdemeanor

This such blatant lying this thread should be locked

You "loooked" at my first example and its completely false?

My first example stated that it was a "non jail-able offense", meaning that you would only get a ticket for shop lifting, assuming they even bother to do that, which in many places they do not.

Nice try though.

This is why no one cares felix:

This is just the cops. Now imagine what happens when you factor in wage theft. Sure, all the visuals of the smash and grabs make for great fear mongering, but there are much bigger underlying issues.

I have railed against civil forfeiture laws run amok. The previous president did make some changes to reign this in.

But to compare civil forfeiture to blatant theft and smash and grab robberies is absurd.

Actually I was quite accurate in describing whats wrong these days. While some have disagreed and support liberal soft-on-crime policies, they are ignoring the damage that it is causing by encouraging even more crime.

Prior to Prop47 shoplifting up to 450 was a non jailable offense aka misdemeanor Now it is it is up to 950 that is the only difference

Nowhere in prop 47mentioned that cops will not perform their duty going after shoplifting at any dollar amount

Btw welcome to 2014
