Why are some people so ignorant

Last night i had some people at my house. I was showing off my System (P4 3.2GHz@3.6GHz and all the good stuff). The system was in an acrylic case, that is why everyone was so interested into it. Anyway someone stupid enough came up and said something like DELL PC's are the best,and that unless someone buys a Dell, he is buying a piece of Sheet. Well this is not the first time i have heard such things. My system blows away the dell XPS;supposed to be Dell top of the line. My own G/F bought a Dell Dimension 2400 for $499, well guess what: It came with a CD-ROM , 40GB HDD and no Floppy. I was so happy that when she asked me to upgraded i asked her to call dell. A complete system from those guys cost around $1,000 for a decent configuration.
The other thing i can stand are people with no brain, I am in a small town full of Bush lovers. 89% of them believe that there is WMD in Iraq , that we just need time to find them. More than 1/2 of the american people believe that there was a link between 9/11 and Iraq.
I really have to stop here before i loose control.

Why so harsh concerning the Dell guy? The issue wasn't that the guy didn't know computers, it was that he was a pompous ass who thought he did. And I had a feeling mentioning Bush was trouble

I run across those types all the time and they don't bother me at all. In fact it is reassuring that those types will never request that I build them a computer and then have to do endless tech support for them.

Dell computers aren't all bad. I have one at work and it is nice and quiet, speedy enough to have 5-6 Excel spreadsheets and 4 or 5 other applications I have open most of the day. I have no complaints about it.

I wouldn't buy one for gaming though and I build all my computers at home (well, except the laptop I'm typing on now).

He's a brand loyal fool. I see these types all the time defending junk like Chevy and Dodge all day long as well (let's see if we can derail this thread even more).

The didn't find WMD, they found some shells with sarin Gas trace. If it was a big deal, we would have know. We are bullies that all N.Korea has WMD but we can do sheet cause they can blast us as we can blast them. A. Einstein was right about WWIII. Democracry cannot be offered, it is like friendship and trust you must earn it. How many dictators are in the world that we supported and still support. I need a brake from all that non-sense.
Now about the computers, some people will argue that Dell is better than Compaq or that HP is better than gateway and so on. They are all piece of crap as they use the cheapest part you can find.
My neighbor bought a Dell for $529 check the specs below:
P2 350Mhz
6.1GB HDD
4X CD-RW
64MB Ram
Windows 98
14-15 low quality unbranded monitor
$1 Keyboard(pricewatch) and .50c Mouse
Floppy and Zip Drive
How do i know? he called me and told the that he got a great setup. He bought it from Cybertek computer, a rip-off computer place.

That system is an OLD system.

If he 'just bought' that system, then it's HIS fault for buying it from Cybertek and not doing his research in the first place. It's not Dell's fault. He's just a dumba5s.

Not to be mean.. but did you ever think that maybe you are the one that's stupid? Can't is a contraction of Can not. It does not mean the same thing as can. They don't even sound the same. One has a T on the end of it.
