Though I disagree with you, I found that funny.

Ah, I see you support politicians making blind party-line votes

Considering they would have, and probably still will, push it through using Parliamentary Procedure, Franken's vote is meaningless.

I still want to know exactly when it was that politicians suddenly became the beacon of honesty? I guess when you abandon religion, it has to be replaced by something. The Bible's lost chapter, The Gospel According to Obama? He makes MSNBC's Matthews' leg tingle. What does he do for this forum's resident liberals I wonder

I am not so sure. Now is not the time to let the pressure up, if you are for UHC. The health insurance lobbyists will be fighting this tooth and nail.
I wrote DNC and my congresswoman and senators telling them don't bother asking for my vote or money if they don't get this done when they have the power they do now. Now is the time to put up or shut up.

Yes, lets rush through medical reform. I heard the stimulus bill worked out really well... how many jobs did that create... or save???? No more blaming the republicans anymore. The public has given the dems enough rope to do what they want. Lets hope they don't use that extra rope to hang themselves.

Apparently you haven't noticed but the only thing preventing a 1930s style run on the banks was the TARP aid and economic stimulus.

He is right the Dems have the votes they need, I don't want them to rush through it but I want to see comprehensive health care passed. This could be a public (read government) run insurance program or at least a standardization of the insurance forms.

"FDIC insured" -- thats suppose to prevent 1930's style run on banks. Not the TARP.

Look at the stimulus bill. How many politicians didn't even read that before passing it? If you think the governments going to take its time to pass a good health care bill, you are mistaken. As obama's political capital is dwindling, the libs are calling him to do something.. and do something fast... let me tell you, it wouldn't be a well thought out bill.

Rush through? It's been 15 years since Hillary first proposed this. There has been plenty of time to analyze options. Now is time for action, come up with a plan and get it passed. The longer they take, the more time the lobbyists have to bastardize whatever comes out.

FDIC protects the individual person's deposit it does not prevent the bank from collapsing.

Exactly, he's going to be literally correct, and we're going to be paying for that mistake forever -- once this disaster takes place, there will be no turning around, ever. The government never ever scaps huge wasteful programs, they just get bigger and bigger.
