why are there so many references to Jerboy?

I'm new to the forums, but so far, i've seen a few references to the particular name "Jerboy". i was wondering if someone could explain to me why just saying "jerboy" would be enough to respond to a topic.

Best to let questions like these drop, or PM someone you think will answer it. Starting a thread about it (without searching first) really isn't the best way to go about it. Search for Jerboy's username in the archives, read a few of his comments.
