I am sorry if this offends anyone, but Pitbulls ARE dangerous. Lets not forget that the breed was created with one idea in mind. KILL. The problem with Pittbulls is that they have an unbalanced, unpredictable brain. Random things can set them off. All it's life, it can be the sweetest, cutest doggy, and then just maul a child or a woman to death.
Just because YOU own a Pitt, and all your friends do as well, and nothing ever happened, doesn't mean Pitts are OK. Muzzles should be mandatory, and not muzzling your Pitt should be punishable by a steep fine. In some parts of the world Pitts are prohibited. And for a good reason! Go to Google and search for "pitbull kill" or "pitbull attack". You'll find plenty of reading material.
Lets not lie to ourselves or everyone else. The reason why someone owns a Pitt, is mainly the sheer intimidation, fear, power and strength that it projects. You feel inferior inside, so you get a Pitt to counteract your weakness, be it mental or physical. It makes you feel good to know that if shit hits the fan, this beast will rip your enemy to shreds. If all these things weren't true, you'd get any other breed of dog. It's not like there are no other strong, intimidating, or "insert important trait" breeds. But none of these breeds were good enough for you. You wanted MORE. You wanted to instill fear and respect in people, because you are not feared or respected yourself.
Whenever I see a hoodlum, or someone who thinks they are "gangsta" walking with a pitbull by me, I tense up, and I am ready to defend myself. I try to stay as far as possible without looking pussy, but if my life is in danger, I don't care, I will fight to the death. I will gauge this monsters eyes out, rip it's maw apart while it's tearing my fingers off, whatever I have to do to stay alive. I just hope it never, ever happens.
