I have a feeling there's a great story behind this one... (I also have the feeling everyone but me's heard it..)

While my situation now is somewhat up in the air, I'm technically not single (and have not been single for about 15 years..) I tend to get into long-term relationships for some reason, even when I probably shouldn't be..

Oh, I'm also very busy with school and work and I'm one of those types of people that think I'm not deserving of a relationship. I'm very confident otherwise, but when it comes to girls, I kick my own ass.

Either way, I learned from last year that I shouldn't worry about it too much. I'm enjoying myself a hell of a lot more this year since it became a very low priority.

several reasons, some bs, some not:

1.I'm shy. I have friends that I hang out with, but I'm not the type of person that goes out and picks up someone, in a bar, anywhere else for that matter, meeting someone brand new that wasn't introduced to me isn't something I enjoy doing.
2. I have a wierd schedule. I work nights half the week, and the days on weekends, days off are monday and tuesday. Some days I'm up by 9 a.m, some days I am up at 2 p.m. and go to bed between 3 a.m and 6 a.m. Yea it's kinda BS, but it'd be a pain in the ass for an SO to deal with.
3. I live at home and don't want to worry about family like gopunk said.
4. Physically, most women don't find me attractive. I know the line about confidence, and I actually have become confident in myself, not giving a poop about what people say or think. Check those lame chick mags, how many girls want a short fat guy?. One I can't do anything about, the 2nd, I'm too lazy to do anything about.
5. I don't want one. I put zero effort into finding a girlfriend because I don't feel like dating someone right now. This is the biggest reason, and the best I think. If it fell into my lap, maybe, but I'm not gonna try, cuz I don't care.

Well, more than I expected to say on the matter, but a complete answer nonetheless.

Risk assessment and the fact that over half of all marriages end in divorce...which is no problem if you can afford it. Actually it's a healthy outcome. Better to part company when the relationship dies. Nothing is forever except in fairy tales. And lucky you if it's lasting and...forever.

Because I am short, fat and live at home at the age of 32. I love living life with 0 responsibility. I used to be very shy and wouldn't say much, but now I am more talkative and try to meet new people. I however don't go to bars and stuff since I am, well, introverted. I've been single for five years now and I'm having the time of my life. I enjoy myself way more than when I had a steady girlfriend; no one to worry about, no one to get jealous, no one to nag me when I leave the toilet seat up. I have several "woman-friends" that I hang out with and enjoy on a regular basis and am free to go wherever and do whatever I want. Could I possibly ask for more? Nope

Yes, the naysayers out there will say "well, you're not grown up enough to have an adult relationship because you're avoiding responsibility and honesty," but that's not true. I have very adult relationships with my friends and love them dearly. These women know that they are not the end-all be-all in my life and we basically, we just suck life dry when we're together. Yes, I can love one woman but I find so much more satisfaction in loving more than one woman: All of my needs are satisfied, whether physical, mental or spiritual (and theirs are, too).

I'm single but only waiting till I get to Uni and live closer to this girl. I could be with other girls but I'd rather not be as this girl is special and worth it.....

we're best friends at the moment and see each other quite a bit. Right now I am in the last 10 weeks of school and I got my exams and grades to get before I get to Uni so its best that I am focused until I get to Uni.....

I have no problems talking to girls. I'm a confident guy. I look after myself just like most guys. You get more confident being around a girl that is great. Does wonders for your ego and confidence knowing this girl is with you because of YOU. So from then on you are ultra confident with any other girls...

just takes a girl to help make you confident at first then from then on you are more confident.

wasn't always as confident with girls though.....

I, for the most part, enjoy being single. I have several close girl friends and I enjoy their company greatly. I know one of them that would like to be with me, but even a hint at a relationship starts making things more difficult. I'm an introvert, and I'm extremely busy. At this time in my life, I have so many goals that I've yet to accomplish, a serious relationships would inevitably hinder that.

Of course, I know that if I happened upon the right woman, that would all change. I'm just not actively looking...

On my time off from school and work, I prefer to go to the gym to workout and play bball instead. I love being single really.

RIght now im single by choice. I broke up with my last girlfriend very recently because of distance reasons and ive decided since im leaving soon to go home, and then away for a semester, not actively seeking is probably the best option.

Single as of a few nights ago.... first time in a few years. I'd been thinking for the past few months that with me not ever having time that it wasn't fair for her, and then a few nights back an incident occured that made me very scared of commitment, which I can't even explainm myself on this one...

So, my reasons:

1) Self Choice (This time)
2) Lack of time
3) Been screwed over by females before after things got too commited... just needed some room to breath...
