Consoles have a bigger and more stable customer base.
Yep, they've apparently got cash to burn and little financial sense.
Consoles have a bigger and more stable customer base.
First 2 halo games, along with the first 2 CoD were very good games, the last 3 games in the series turned them both in exemplar cash cows.
Maybe you just don't like FPS now because they are more competitive with more people playing and you suck at them?
CoD4 has been out almost 3 years, and most of the players still play like noobs.I would say for the most part a MW2 pub is harder than a CS pub was back in the 1.3-1.5 days when CS was huge. (I don't acknowledge CS before 1.3 since I never played it, lol)
Consolization doesn't exist, it is yet another baseless argument. UT3 was exactly the same formula that existed since the original. The best thing about UT3 was the fact it was the only FPS on consoles to allow the use of keyboard/mouse. If anything, it PCized the console FPS genre
It's impossible for consoles to hold back PC gaming. You imply intention and force where neither exist. PC gamers are holding back PC gaming, however. More than one studio has gone under due to pirating. Even games that are sold at a price determined by the buyer are still pirated. Consoles have a bigger and more stable customer base.
Who says they arent getting better? Sales numbers are through the roof, which means a VERY large majority of people disagree with you.
While I agree games are worse in some aspects; there are definitely some things better about current FPS games.
why don't you create a game that sells good and is nice on your opinion if you're so good?
you're just nostalgic, the games moved to other places and you didn't.
I personally love playing crysis or call of duty with my friends, yeah they are all the same maybe, but graphics are new and single player campaigns too.
Dedicated servers rant: I agree with you on this one, consoles ruined PC games a bit, but with some heavy modding you can overcome those problems.
I can say the same thing about movies and maybe music, but what is actually happening is I'm getting older and so do my tastes in things that give me enjoyment.
