I work in the defense industry, it was not a boon as it was made out to be. It's actually been a drain on at least the traditional defense industry considering we have been fighting a low tech adversary. I don’t see any indication he thinks we can win, it sounds like he is saying we should deploy our military in Afghanistan indefinitely as some sort of antiterror measure. If that’s the case though I would like them to make that argument.
