Yeah, more fans means more noise. But people going for SLI speed (and power draw and heat) probably don't have noise at the top of their list.

That's because there was none. SLI started in the consumer space with the VooDoo 2, died with the VooDoo 3, and then came back with the VSA chips (which were only on the market for a portion of a year before 3dfx died. NV never had SLI until now. This guy is mistaking using a TNT in conjunction with a V2 setup. Either that, or he's just trolling.

You were right about the first part, I was mistaking, it wasn't with my riva (though it was hooked to a dvd decoder, which caused me to get confused here - unless you think I'm trolling).

I'm sorry if you think I'm somehow obtuse, but you come across as a troll. We've had a ton of SLI posts in the past few months. You claimed that SLI was some sort of marketing gimmick, as even low end gfx cards are fine for non-gaming apps. However, what you seem to fail to comprehend is that SLI was never marketed towards the average PC user. If you read up at NVs page you'll see that it's clearly marketed towards the high end of the market. How this is some sort of marketing gimmick, I'll never know. And then you go on some rant about noise, which is complete trolling, as noise varies between the different product lines and between different manufacturers. Not to mention that noise is easily taken care of with aftermarket products too. So, instead of going on a rant next time do some damn research and searching first. Otherwise you'll come across looking like a troll.
